Where is the light at the end of the tunnel? I don't wanna give her my right breast :( it hurts.... two weeks ago both nipples hurt. Idk how I heal one. The other one is worse!! I miss pregnancy. I slept a lot :(

I know it doesn't seem like it...but it WILL get better. 5 weeks in, and you're doing a great job. Seriously. Hang in there!! The first couple months are so so hard.

Do you have access to a lactation consultant? If so, go see one. Mine was able to prescribe APNO (I think it stands for all purpose nipple ointment ) it was the best $30 I could have ever spent. My nipples felt relief within minutes and we're healed in a day or two.

I suggest seeing a lactation consultant. They can and will help you to make it easier. Sounds like baby's latch isn't right.

It may be the angle with the right breast. Try a different position. Use coconut oil for the soreness and I suggest getting those cool gel packs from Lansinoh. Put them in the fridge or freezer and put them in your bra before and after bf. Keep up with the lanolin/ coconut oil on both. Make sure soap doesn't get on your nipples in the shower because the perfume/ alcohol can dry them out even more. Make sure to let your nipple dry completely before putting it away. See a lactation consultant for the latch, in the mean time head to target and pick up a nipple shield. INSTANT relief (for me, at least). I would literally cry and cry during her first 5 minutes of any feed. It hurt so bad and then I started with the shield. Dd had a lip tie so it was hard to get a good latch (which I didn't realize there was a problem at all, just thought she didn't want to open wide enough).

Good luck mama! It DOES get easier! These few weeks of pain are soooo worth it. You're doing a great job and once you get some help with the latch it'll be much easier.

Hang in there mama! I was you like a week ago.. both of them were bleeding n I was dying everytime he wanted to bf. I would literally cry n wana punch the wall next to me from how much it was hurting. Now they've healed n it's sooo much better n I've heard it'll get even better later on.

Seems like if your baby might not be latching on properly. My nipples were hurting the first few days because baby wasn't latching on right. I went to my wic breastfeeding consultant and got very much needed help and my nipples don't hurt anymore. If you have a wic center near you, I would highly recommend checking them out.

I want to add that I have breast implants. So my nipples are pointing different idk :(

I haven't had any bleeding.

My right nipple has a tear on the side since week 1. It hurts a lot.

The left one had one too, but it heal. They never bled.

My right boob burns and hurts after feeding her :( and like the first 20 seconds of each feeding. Or when she latches and unlatches. The left one doesn't hurt when I feed her. My favorite boob ?

You may have an infection if it burns. Ask your ob at your pp check up. You need to see a lc to figure out a plan and the best routine for you and Lo.

Omg I can totally relate. I also have breast implants and my left breast is my fave to feed him. My right breast hurts/burns like hell! And my let downs are sooo painful too.

You may want to check to see if your baby has a lip tie or tongue tie. My baby is two weeks old and within the first week my nipples were cracked and bruised and bleeding and I ended up in urgent care with mastitis. Her latch was all wrong and it was because she had a lip tie and a tongue tie. Her pediatrician referred us to the ENT and they fixed it with a laser in one day and now she's eating like a champ and my nipples have healed and no more mastitis. It's like a different baby in just a weeks time. Good luck though. I was you last week. I told the dr that every time she fed I wanted to punch the wall or scream.

I agree have her double checked for lip/tongue tie and set up an appt with a lactation consultant to make sure the latch is correct. Also I used coconut oil on my nipples I felt it worked better then lanolin. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and you're almost there!!! Around 6-8 weeks is when it got easier for me!!! Good luck stick with it. U can do it!!!

At five weeks the pain should be gone. You should be more comfortable all around. The exhaustion may be present for awhile. If you are in pain or baby won't settle, something is probably wrong. I'd see dr or lactation.

Hi ladies. I have a pimple in my areola :( it tiny and it hurts a little when I nurse her. But she empty my breasts. I don't feel any lumps. I don't have fever and have never bled. I have an appointment on Wednesday and I'll figure out what's wrong with my boob. Just one boob. The other one is perfect!
