I don't know what to do!!! Baby is almost 4 days old. My boobs have been hard rock since yesterday. I have breast implants (don't know if it affects anything), I can't make baby latch correctly cause I can't grab my nipples and areola. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to give her enough milk. :'( in so desperate. She has enough wet diapers today 8 so far. So I guess yes she's getting colostrum?? I went to the shower and try to massage with hot water but milk is not coming out. My boobs get a little soft when she's breastfeeding. But after 1 hour they are hard again :( :( I need words, tell me what did you do and how's everything going to be... this new mom will appreciate all your support... I feel like a failure. I don't know how to burp baby properly either :( tomorrow I have her first pediatrician appointment and I hope they don't tell me she lost more weight. I'm so sad, desperate... please help me with words and your stories. God bless you all.

First you aren't a failure. She peed eight times today. That's amazing. Can you see a LC? Are you able to hand express? Hand express just enough so that it softens up your areola so the baby can latch on. It's normal for your boobs to be pretty hard in the beginning as your milk comes in. So that's completely normal. Also milk just won't necessarily come out just in the shower you'll have to learn how to properly hand express. Which a lactation consultant can do and show you. It's really important that you try and meet with one. Also a lot of breast-fed babies don't burp because they don't take in a bunch of air like the one with the bottle. One thing first time moms do is they don't pat hard enough when burping. YouTube videos on how to burp a baby and look at their technique. There's a lot of hormones in play and it's making you extra emotional. Just know you are doing great.

Sounds like you are doing good. The wet diapers are a testament to that. Colostrum is all baby needs. It helps clean the meconium out of her system. As she needs more, you milk will come in.
That's exactly what happens, your breasts get soft after nursing and than they fill up again.
It's normal for babies to lose weight. We have all been there.

Hand express! I didn't think it would help, but one time I had to pump at work and I forgot some parts at home so I hand expressed. It was much easier than I thought and got quite a bit out.
