mastitis... I have it ugh

I was about to ask the same thing ??? Im not breastfeeding and my boobs are huge so hot and since last night I been having a fever ?

Have you called your doc yet? If not call them ASAP for antibiotics! I am soooooo sorry my sis had it and was miserable!

I had it with when I was breastfeeding my youngest son. I remember being in bed feeling so cold yet sweating and shivering. I thought I had a cold or something my husband was at work and my in laws just took me to the ER they gave me IV fluids and antibiotics. Please get help ASAP.

Yes call your Dr for antibiotics. They'll probably want to see you, to confirm. I had reoccurring mastitis while nursing my 1st baby and it was absolutely horrible ?. The antibiotics just didn't work for me, but I think that was an unusual scenario. Once you get on some medicine you'll be feeling much, much better within 24 hours. Until then, rest & drink lots of water.

I'm on antibiotics now and have been for 24hrs but it still seems so rough?. My poor boobs are achy and hot.

Oh it’s the worst. I’m so sorry. Good that you’re on antibiotics! I don’t have any tips. I just waited for it to pass. I remember burning up but felt cold at the same time with shakes. Everything hurt. Maybe take a hot shower and let the water run on your chest for awhile. If you can handle it, express some milk if you’re engorged to give yourself some relief. Hopefully it clears soon!!?

I went through mastitis with my first and know how it feels. This time around I went cold turkey drying up. I had a mild case of it it was maybe2-3 nights/days of it. I called my doctor for a RX to dry my milk and she said she wouldn't not sure why? But day 4-5 was much better...

They have a script to dry up your milk? ?

I will ask my OB about that today since I see him for my boobies anyways
