Not stopping....
Went to l&d today cuz I woke up at 3am to sever cramping, back pain, and tightening. My contractions were 3 mins apart, but I waited tell 7am to see if they would stop which they didn't. When I got to l&d they hooked me up to the monitor, gave me fluids, and told me they were not going to stop them. I'm 34w6d I'll be 35 weeks on Monday. I'm just concerned cuz the contractions are not stopping and I'm not ready for my little man to come out yet? sorry just a little rant!

Yeah I have been in and out the past two weeks from contractions, I'm trying to ease them and they aren't stopping. I might be going back in cuz they are every 4 mins right now. They said cuz I'm almost 35 weeks they didn't see a point in stopping them.
My Dr said if I were to go into labor after 34wks he wouldn't stop it because by that age they are pretty healthy and require minimal time in NICU. I had first baby at 33wks and second at 36wks, neither stayed in the NICU. My third made it to 38wks 6days with progesterone injections. So I guess because of my history he feels like it would be safe if it were to happen and usually I labor fast and have no time to stop labor.
Just try everything you can to ease contractions. Have you been in and out of the hospital alot this pregnancy? It's a reason why they are saying they will not stop them.. Cause like what was said before in this post...*docs usually want babies in longer so they can have more developed lungs*
They don't see a point in stopping them since ill be 35 wks on monday.
