Non alcoholic drinks So my husband and I are going out with a group of friends tonight for a friends…

If they ask just say that you’re on antibiotics and if you drink while on antibiotics you’ll vomit profusely. Lol. That’s the best I’ve got.

You can ask the bar tender to make you virgin margaritas or any other mixed drinks. I did it a couple weeks ago and none of my friends new any different.

I can’t use the antibiotic excuse anymore, I’ve been using it for the past 4 weeks ?? two of which I actually was on antibiotics. I’m hoping I can talk to the bartender without my friends seeing or hearing but they already are questioning me. I went out with one of them last week and she wanted to order me a drink and I had to tell her I wasn’t feeling good so I didn’t want anything. Who would think this would be the hardest part of hiding pregnancy. lol

Order a drink and secretly let your husband sip it. Or pour it out?

I think I’m going to try having my husband go up to the bar to order me a drink and I’ll say I have to go to the bathroom. Or if they ask for ID I’m going to say I forgot mine.

I mean you could always drive there and say that you’re the DD for the night

I had my husband dump the drink my dad gave me with my last pregnancy that ended in mmc. But I’ll soon have this same problem! At family events like bdays, Fourth of July and other summer holidays.. I’m the one who’s like “WHERE DA LIQUOR AT” haha. ??‍♀️

I just say club soda with a splash of cran really quickly. Nobody ever notices and just assume vodka/soda/cran. And I order a tall so I don't have to go up to the bar as often. I am sneaky and going out tonight, too!;) Good luck!

I ordered virgin drinks and asked the bartender to put them in a cocktail glass. I didn’t let anyone else order me a drink rather I got my own. If my husband were with me, I would have him help out too.

My friends would totally know something was up if I turned down a glass of wine. I don't even think they'd buy "I'm on antibiotics", so I've had some experience hiding it (successfully so far!)

Sometimes the hardest part is getting the bartender alone. The first time I tried this, I was with a group so couldn't exactly ask the bartender to "hold the vodka", so I just ordered a vodka with club soda. After we walked away from the bar, I pretended they had given me tonic water instead of soda (or you could say they gave you rum instead of vodka etc), so went back to exchange it. That gave me an opportunity to get the bartender alone and fill him in on what was going on. I then made sure I ordered from him for the rest of the night.

Depending on how busy the venue is, you can sometimes get away with just straight up ordering a non-alcoholic drink. I found this works best when there's a line to get drinks, so your friends might be behind you instead of standing directly beside you. On occasion, I would just ask the bartender for a club soda with lime, and no one noticed ;)

People might notice if you're not paying for drinks (water is free!). Pretending you have a tab is an easy out. I was called out once by a friend for not paying for my drink (she knew I hadn't started a tab), so I said something aloof like "guess the bartender thinks I'm cute!"

Restaurants can be trickier, as you generally order drinks at the table as a group, so I usually just order some kind of alcoholic mixed drink. Right after the server leaves the table, I say I have to use to the restroom and grab the server on the way. Your friends might see you chatting with the server, so have a backstory ready in case they ask (thought of a question about the menu, really liked the girl's hair so was complimenting her... it doesn't have to be good, but you need to be ready!)

Canned beer works amazingly, if the venue serves it. I spent the majority of an evening carrying the same can of beer around, pretending to sip it on occassion, and no one had a clue.

If all else fails, you might need your husband to drink for two (if he's around!) I've ended up at a couple of basketball games where the beer comes in those clear plastic cups. So I just ordered the same size as my husband, and we periodically swapped cups so that it looked like we were both drinking. This can also work if you're at a restaurant - just order the same thing, keep your glasses close to each other, and your husband can grab yours instead of his occasionally!

I think it went pretty good!! We got there and everyone was standing around so I stood with the group and asked my husband to grab drinks from the bar. He brought me back a coke and I drink captain and coke normally, so I don’t think it was too obvious. Then at dinner one of my friends ordered a kiddie cocktail and I was like oh that sounds good so I ordered one of those next. Haha it worked out kinda nice because it was snowing and I was driving so that’s why I said I didn’t want to drink much. Overall I think I fooled em! ?
