Penicillin while TTC?
So I’m on CD1 today ?? I went to the doctor and I have strep throat, she put me on penicillin 2x a day for the next 10 days which will obviously bring me to CD10. Is this going to have any affect on my ovulation? Any of you ladies have any experience with this before?

I imagine that it there’s a possibility. Call the pharmacist. I find they are always the most helpful w questions about medications. Keep tracking your cycle as usual and see where things go. xx

Having strep throat in it’s self could effect your ovulation. Heavy courses of antibiotics can prevent or delay ovulation but that’s more on the end of high doses. Say taking 500mg 2x daily of a heavy antibiotic like keflex would be more likely to effect and or delay ovulation.

I’m on 500mg of penicillin. Is that a lot? I don’t know anything about antibiotics.

Penicillin is a very weak antibiotic. You should be fine
