Fake drink?
So tomorrow I *should* be 6 weeks. I’m a little nervous about the next few weekends and getting through the holidays without people noticing me not drinking. Next weekend for opening weekend my husband and all the guys in his family go up north hunting for the weekend and all the girls go out and do a girls weekend. I’m not sure how to go without drinking? I’ll be just over 7 weeks but we’re not ready to spill the beans yet. We already spent last weekend with his family and I obviously didn’t drink then either. I’m not sure what to do? I’m also not sure what to do for thanksgiving and the date I have planned with all my girlfriends in the beginning of December for WINE night!? ? I live in Wisconsin and as bad as it sounds we casually drink almost everyday so I feel like not drinking is a dead giveaway for me. Especially since my bff is pregnant right now too and everybody noticed she stopped drinking and they have been hounding her for weeks asking if she is pregnant. Sorry for the long post, just not sure what to do!

Say u are on an antibiotic that u can’t consume alcohol. It worked for me.

Lol. I live in Wisconsin too and I totally get what you're saying! I was soo happy when a packer party was cancelled this weekend. And I have plans for widows weekend too and I've been trying to figure out what I'm gonna say. The antibiotic is a good one.

If it's somewhere with a bartender, maybe try asking them for a cranberry sprite sans alcohol so it looks like you're drinking. Same with a coke (instead of a coke and jack) or club soda with lime. Or, I'd order a beer and water, and when I had a moment, dump the beer (or let hubby drink it) and refill with water (I'd refill same bottle a few times!). If it's a brunchy thing, you can drink OJ and pretend it's a mimosa or a screwdriver. Advocare cleanse or a 30 day cleanse. Designated driver. Getting over a migraine. Haha I've got plenty so I'm sure not to use the same ones. :)

Yes! I think I might use that one but I can only use it for about a week! Lol ?

Sangria mocktails have saved me when staying in. Bought cheap small box of wine (ive always been known to drink my wine juiceboxes haha), which hubby kindly drank for me and then refilled with the mocktail. Just tell everyone I'm feeling under the weather so no one sips my drink (maybe explains the nausea and fatigue a little too) and drink my tumbler slowly in the corner. They have other flavors too if sangria's not your speed.

I’m not pregnant yet , but I’ve avoided drinking during my tww for the past 3 months. I’m just upfront and say that we are currently trying so I’m choosing not to drink. Can you just say that you guys are going to start trying so you want to avoid all alcohol because it was recommended by your doctor

Oh ya... the antibiotics one like PP said works like magic! Good luck! ?

My family is the nosiest when it comes to me not having a drink during family dinners. I normally have a beer or wine during dinner, so Thanksgiving I'll be screwed. I waited until 15 weeks for my first, but they guessed when I was pregnant with my second ? This third baby will most likely be forced announced as well. They don't buy the "I'm dieting" excuse. I'm lost as well.

Can you just say you don't like to/want to drink anymore? I actually don't drink and haven't in several years. I found it really just didn't do anything for me and I'd rather waste the calories on cake then on drinks. ? You can even go from a health/weight loss point of view. Even before I stopped drinking, no one would've thought anything of me not drinking because it wasn't a big thing for us. I guess it depends on how much holidays and get togethers revolve around it, though.

Everything revolves around drinking for our families so it’s pretty obvious for me. Lol I think I’ll use the on antibiotics excuse because I do get a lot of UTI’s

I am going to get non alcoholic sparking wine and put it in a regular wine bottle. It looks like wine, so nobody should be any the wiser
