I did mine yesterday. Was a piece of cake. Went in drank the orange flavor at the desk. They let me walk around, go to my car for a hour just couldn't eat or drink anything went in they took 6 vials of blood then i had to get my rhogam shot in my butt because my blood type is oh- and off i went. They didnt have me fast either.

Unless your told to fast by your dr. eat a protein rich breakfast. avoid starch carbs and SUGAR! That's my plan this time. last time i did it on an empty stomach and failed. took the 3 hour and past. I dont want to go through that again so i have a plan of attack. High protein and no foods that can turn into sugars! Good Luck!

I have mine in the morning too! I don't need to fast! The nurse suggested a high protein breakfast, she said eat eggs & a slice of wheat toast an hour or so b4 I do the drink & nothing sugary, no juice, fruit etc! I'm not eating any carbs for dinner tonight either! Mostly b/c I'm nervous! Lol
I get up at 6 & walk every morning & then have breakfast! That's my plan for tomorrow & I have my drink so I'll drink that @ 9:15 & my appointment is at 10.
Good luck to you! Hope we both pass?

I can't have anything besides water after midnight. And they told me to avoid sugar and starchy carbs like pasta and potatoes. Just eat clean the day before. I'm so nervous about it that I will make sure to eat clean for 2 days prior.

I just saw u had to fast? for dinner I'd suggest avoiding carbs & anything sugary. If you're planning on carbs tonight make them healthy carbs, whole wheat rice, pasta etc & keep the total to 30g or less. If u can in the morning try to exercise 30min walk is plenty. Good luck again

I wasn't told to fast but I did anyway. My appt was at 10 and they took my blood an hour later. I didn't eat after until around 1:00-1:30 and y'all I crashed HARD. I had a total meltdown- dripping sweat when cold, dizzy, nauseas, confused. I honestly thought I was going to pass out. Be sure and eat soon after so this doesn't happen. I'm not sure if I passed or failed really, my blood level was literally on the pass/fail line (135 is the cut off- I had a level of 135). I think they are going to let me slide since I was on the line and I have no history- I would most likely pass the 3 hour.

I agree w/PP! I forgot to mention take something packed w/protein to eat after they draw your blood. Will help offset all the sugar from the drink!

Thanks for all the tips. I did walk on treadmill tonight, got to 15 mins abd had to stop cuz it hurt to much. I had a half chicken salad sandwich which found out about the labs after I ate that. Dinner had grilled chicken salad and put dressing on side. I'm so nervous for these labs. Appt is at 645 am

How'd it go?

Not as bad as I thought it was but gagged near the end was so sugary. Def orange is way to go. Feel more nauseous now then I did when so took it. Having a lay low day at work and home tonight. Stomach is just off but I'm not used to having sugar.
