If so you should be fine. I believe you can only get chicken pox from shingles if you've never had the pox.... i would still let ob know still let ob know & surely if you haven't had the chicken pox

I'm pretty sure what pp said is right. My hubby got shingles when I was prego with ds but because I had chicken pox my ob was not concerned. Call your Dr though to make sure.

Actually ppl that have shingles are the one whom had the chicken pox before because the virus lives inside of you so if you had the pox you can definitely get shingles

Yes if you've had the chicken pox the shingles virus is inside you and you can get it. I hope you don't and the patient didn't actually have it older people like to think they have everything.

My mil has shingles when I was pregnant. I didn't catch it but her dr said the same thing as long as I was vaccinated of had chicken pox before it would be fine.

You can catch chicken pox from shingles.

The good news is that the risk of transmission to giving you chicken pox is quite low unless you were exposed to the actual wound.

But it is highly inconsiderate (mild way to put it) that people dont take more care not to infect others.
