I thinking picking godparents is harder than picking names. Is there rules to it? Like do they need to be in age range, or as a couple? Hubby and I are having a difficult time. I said from day obe I wanted my Aunt but I also dont want any family issues if I had her and not other. I dunno what to do. I want someone in the area that is caring and passionate toward kids. Someone who is responsible and reliable. How did you decide?

all churches are different. At mine they had to be confined and over 18. They encouraged couples and one of each gender. We chose my brother and my husband's sister

With me, I pick the godmother and my bf picks the godfather. Like for our first my childhood bestfriend is her god mother and her godfather is my bf childhood bestfriend. Sadly he passed away last year. With this baby my childhood bestfriend will again be the godmother ... idk about the godfather yet though

It depends on the church. My family split it up so that both sides of the family was either godfather or godmother, but they were not both from the same family.

I just picked the person I knew would take care of my children like I would want if I pass. My life long friend & her husband. She was beside me during both births and has been apart of every huge moment in my life. I know they'd love my children like their own if anything were to ever happen to me and husband. It wasn't tough for us to decide who their god parents should be.

Thanks for all the input. I know who I want and that is my aunt and uncle (moms brother and wife) who is also my godfather but I'm just afraid of hurting someone's feelings but they are so passionate about family and think they would be great god parents
