Hot tubs
Hi ladies! This is my third pregnancy and I’ve never used a hot tub while pregnant, but I’m wondering if anyone has? I would never use a public hot tub, we got one last year and my hubby just cleaned it out. I’m wondering if we lower the temp and I’m only in it for 10-15 minutes if it would be ok? It is my favorite way to relax after a long day! I know body temp over 102 can be unsafe but just wondering what thoughts are if the temp is lower and again, you’re only in for about 10 minutes. Thanks for your input!

Personally I wouldn’t risk it. What may feel hot for someone may not feel hot for someone else. Everyone’s temp rises differently.
But I completely understand the relaxing part ? my doctor doesn’t even allow me to take baths ? or use hot water.

I got in one with my first pregnancy and plan to do it again with this one. My doctor told me baths and hot tubs were fine as long as the temp was not too high and I didn't stay in it too long. I know all doctors have their own opinions with these kinds of things though.

Definitely wouldn't risk it. When your core temperature rises, your baby's temperature rises and is dangerous. Unless you plan on using a thermometer while sitting in the hot tub and keeping a close eye on your temp, I wouldn't take the risk lol.
My doctor says: no hot tubs, no saunas and no hot baths.

My doctor said hot tubs at your own home are ok to use as long as you lower the temperature. I get in ours once a week or so.

When I have a bath I use a thermometer and make the water body temperature. Then I don’t stress over whether it is too hot or not ? and just don’t aim the jets directly at your stomach.

Thank you ladies!

I don't do it because I'm paranoid. But my mom literally cranks the water as hot as it will possibly go and sits in the bath for like an hour.. I can't even put my hand in the water without feeling like I'm being scalded and she said she did it with all of her pregnancies the whole time as she didn't know she shouldn't.

I take baths all the time. The water is warm and I just lay in it for a few minutes. Great way to end my day.

I take baths with my daughter. People labor in tubs all the time.
I'm perfectly fine with getting in a jacuzzi/hot tub. I don't make the water hot at all though.

I take hot baths and have no problem using our personal hot tub. You feel hot get out. Limit your time.

I thought you couldn’t from all the reading I did, but when I asked my doctor she told me it’s ok to use the hot tub or take hot showers as long as it’s not making you dizzy. Go figure...
