A depression test?! Have you said anything about being depressed before? Or did they just spring the test on you?

My doctor gave me written paper test for depression as well with every pregnancy I had even before I had ppd. You also take one after you have the baby and at your 6 week postpartum appointment. I refuse any and all medicine and I don't have depression during my pregnancies but I had ppd after my son. There's not much my doctor told me I can do during my pregnancy, she told me light exercise like walking around the block, sunlight, taking a vitamin d supplement, and to go to a therapist. I'm doing all that to avoid having postpartum depression after this baby, but you could do it to help with what you have going on currently.

Ive heard of the mental health test aka the depression test. They give it to me once a month to fill out how the last 7days have been for me and score my ranking from my answers. They do this to everyone but only once, I suppose they give it to me all the time because i have a history. Im sorry you didnt pass hun but it doesn't make you any different to anyone else on here, everyones got their battles and some of us just need extra support. Im here if you need to talk xx

@mrsserver... and I think it's mandatory.

I am on my 4th baby and have never heard about this. And remember nothing is "mandatory" when it comes to the medical industry. Doctors work for you, not the other way around. If you don't like something or don't want to do something, just say no?

Try eating bananas
The skin helps increase serotonin.
If you use half a banana skin with the banana insurance a smoothie it's really nice and you won't know the skin is in there trust me
Look online about bananas and mental health.
Also lavender tea is amazing too
You can increase your magnesium by buying a magnesium supplement which I didn't know until recently helps with depression and anxiety too there has been a few studies on this.
Sunlight
Light exercise
Good company
Vitamin d and omega 3,6 and 9 are essential too
Depression can be a very real thing but many times our bodies are out of whack if it's hormones or diet since these days so many things are modified and we chose to eat a range of preservatives and chemicals it leaches alot from our food and our body.
If you drink coke stop... that's probably the worst
Hope you feel better.. us women are always here for you ?

I eat nothing but fruits, vegetables, and very lean meats.( besides the occasional cravings like those peach pancakes I posted about a while back.) I don't drink any pop only water and milk. And Bananas are the biggest part of my diet. I'll try the peels ( I have very bad diarrhea and constipation) I also make sure and take my prenatal every night plus my iron and probiotics ( I haven't had one bladder infection this entire pregnancy) i can't exercise much because of my twisted hips and lower back scoliosis ( caused by the twisted hips) it puts to much strain on me now that I've VERY pregnant. I just wish that maybe my family would help. My husband suffers himself with this and I'm his rock...but who's my rock? I feel like I'm loseing myself...i eat healthy and I'm 191lbs it makes no sense. In fact it scares me. I'm truly lost. ?????????????????????????????????????????????and as you can tell from my posts I have my up and down moments but recently things have gotten a little bummy. I feel hopeless

If you have gestational diabetes fruit needs to be cut to an absolute minimum and if you're going to have it berries are going to be the safest.

I think don't take much note of a Dr paper that is a blanket diagnoses based upon a few questions
If you don't feel depressed or that there is a problem neither does anyone around you then just take it with a pinch of salt
Consider a professional opinion from someone who is legally certified to diagnose mental health conditions

I don't have any experience with GD, but I've gone in and out of depressed type moods my whole life basically. I feel like as I've gotten older I become more aware of what's happening in the sense that I know when it's arrived..it's not such a scary thing like when I was a kid, I didn't understand why I felt this way. Making myself aware by reflecting on what's been going on in my life lately and what's going to help me through this nasty feeling helps me so much. I'm hard on myself and an over thinker as it is, so being kind to myself is like #1! Note it's not always the same thing that helps me through each time...sometimes it's "I could really use some fresh air" and other times I just want to be alone and take an epsom salt bath or do my nails. I will admit with pregnancy and the whole hormonal balance that seems to take over the majority of the time (at least in my experience lol), that's when you have to be even kinder to yourself! Life is hard enough at times as it is and when you have that what I call "demon" giving it its all to control your thoughts and feelings, act against it by doing something you know you like or that makes you happy! It might not hurt to have a running list of what those things might be on paper when you feel like you just can't think. I hope this helped! Feel free to message me anytime ?

Thank you I'm going to try the list and see if that helps. And fresh air sounds nice...i wish I could reach my toes to paint them. Thank you!!?

You're welcome! I can't reach my toes either!! ? luckily it's winter where I'm at so my feet are covered 95% of the time so I focus mainly on my fingernails since my hands are so crackly and dry anyway ? there are also a lot of nail salons in my area that are walk in friendly so I do get a pedicure every once and awhile at a pretty reasonable price ??
