I really dont know how tf i should feel. Idk if I should be angry, upset, hurt... I feel I'm all the above. I'm so damn crushed and disappointed. My mom has been clean for 5 facking YEARS, 5 YEARS!!!!!!! We were just talking on the phone last night about it because some druggie man beat her up.... and what does she facking do? STAY OUT ALL NIGHT DRINKING AND ENDS UP GETTING HIGH!!!! ???

Ugh that’s hard. I’m so sorry momma. I hope she makes the decision to get sober and stay sober.

Sobriety is an up hill climb... daily.
This is a slip, not a fall Down the mountain

When did she get beat up recently? She's still hurting from this it seems like she's struggling a little more due to this incident. Just let her know your there for her!

Why was she around some druggies man anyways? She has to stay away from people that are that way to keep up her sobriety. I hope she can bounce back from all this. Good luck to you and your mom. Your feelings are valid as well.

this happened last night, she was at the bar... I do understand that this could have triggered her to get high because when she use to use, she was in a very unhealthy, physical abuse relationship. I'm just so hurt. we literally talked about how long shes been clean/sober. ?? I'm very upset and she's been ignoring all my phone calls and messages. My sister told me that she found her high this morning, and she refused to go too my sisters house. I just pray that this doesn't open up to her using again. ? She used drugs for 10 years, so with her being clean for 5, she's really came a long way.

I think all you can do is help her work through it. Talk to her let her vent and then tell her how good she was doing before and if she had the strength to stop she can do it again not for you or anyone else but for her self. Such a hard topic I have a sister that’s a junkie always popping pills and when there’s no pills she uses meth. She was doing so good after she had my neice 11 years ago but after she has my last nephew who is 2 now she went back to drugs. So with all that being said if she wants to stop she will take all the help she can get.

What @newly said.

I attended a conference where the main speaker was clean for years but he told us that no matter how many years he was clean he was still an addict. Meaning, it’s something they literally have to fight every single day. Your mom had a weak moment and she made a bad choice. I’m sure she is feeling just as disappointed in herself. Tell her to learn from her mistake and stay on the road to sobriety. Be a source of encouragement and she will be more inclined to stay clean. Good luck!

Update op? How's your mom?

Relapse is a part of recovery. As crazy as it sounds, it's true. Your mom will be in my thoughts today. As will you because it's just as difficult to love an addict.

I spoke with her today and she claims she didn't get high, just was out all night drinking. I told her when I heard she "got high", it immediately hurt my feelings. She didn't want to talk much, but I did tell her that just because my other 2 sisters are mad and fed up with her, that I'm not. I love my mom A LOT and I'd hate to see her fall back into that life. I won't give up on her.
