That's what I just started doing for my son. But I actually lowered it to 2 oz of breastmilk and 3 oz formula.. basically the same but he only likes it warm
The paper I received from my breastfeeding clinic the last time I had a baby (3 years ago) said not to mix them because the formula kills the antibodies in the breastmilk. I had mixed it with my older child.
Try doing 3 oz breast milk and 1 oz formula then each week take an oz away of breast milk an add an oz of formula .. if this makes sense. Thats how I got my son to drink it. He's 4.5 months
My lo is about the same age as your. I breastfed until 3 months. He took formula like a champ from a bottle and would nurse easily too. Now that he is fully bottle fed i have a freezer full of breastmilk. I tried bottles with just breastmilk in it and tried adding a little to the formula bottles, he screamed bloody murder and would not take it at all ? so now i have a freezer full of breastmilk he just wont drink. I'll try him on it again when he is a little older to see how that works out. Sorry cant offer any advice im in the same boat!

DS loved it as a newborn. Do you heat it up?

Yes it's warm. I did 2 oz breastmilk, 2 oz formula. He took it at first then starting crying after a couple sucks lol ??
My supply is not the greatest at all and I'm needing to supplement but he won't take formula at all.
ETA: he's 3 1/2 months. If that matters

Well I can't just transition my son straight to formula especially if he refuses it.

I always offer BM first then for formula. That
way if he's doesn't finish, it's most likely the formula that's wasted- not the liquid gold.
Ciara·
@cams I'm so scared doing this because I don't want him to waste my milk ??

I breastfed then offered a bottle. After 6 months she was fully bottle fed. Took about two months. She ebf for 4 months.

My son is bottle fed since he wasn't able to latch on properly due to being tongue tied so that's not the issue. Thank you though.
