What type
Of bed/mattress do you have? And if you don't mind sharing how much you paid for it. I am trying to get a nice, comfortable mattress for no more than 500$ if possible.

What size mattress do you want?
I have a king size basic spring mattress. Nothing fancy. I call it the goldilocks mattress because it was the only one hubby and I could agree on. I like something a little softer and hubby likes something extra firm, and somehow this mattress is both soft and firm.
We paid a little over $1000 for it 2 years ago, it would of been more but we didn't need to buy a box spring since we have a platform bed.

King for sure. We want something soft but a little firm like you described.

Finding a mattress for $500 is going to be a difficult task. But there should be a lot of end of the year sales going on now.
I just found this mattress on sale at JC Penny a king is $508 without the box spring.

I forgot what model but we have a Serta. It's one of those memory foams. Keeps the body cool, it curves to you and all that jazz. It was on sale for $899 with the box it's a queen though.

King Serta iComfort memory foam and I believe it was around 2800 with the box spring. We did a no interest financing promotion at a local furniture store.

Finding a king sized bed for $500 or less is going to be a difficult task! I have a Serta perfect sleeper plush mattress, and I paid around $540 for a queen size.

We had some family members getting rid of stuff so they gave us their mattress but it isn't great SO we bought a gel mattress cover for $300 and that thing is magical.

I have a queen size bob-o-pedic and I love it. It was probably $500-700 I think. Which is great since temperpedics are over $1000. This is even more comfortable!

We ordered a king size memory foam off of Amazon for like $440. It's a wonderful mattress when I'm not pregnant, but it's made for you to sleep on your back, which I can no longer do at this point.

Just a standard mattress nothing fancy. King size. Floor model from Big Lots. $400 including new sheets. Seriously such a steal if you can get over the fact it was a floor model.

We have a ghostbed memory foam, eastern king size. It's awesome and totally worth the $900ish we paid.

I second Big Lots. To find a good quality mattress for that price and size will be hard I would stay away from private furniture stores or you'll end up with junk. I bought a king two years ago from a small place and it was so hard and uncomfortable. I will be buying another mattress again next month and will be going with Big Lots
