Does anyone have this? I read a pamphlet at my doctors office about it. I am done having babies after this one. I was planning on getting my tubes tied after I had my dd last year. Yeah that worked well, ha I chickened out. I've never been put under for anything. From what I understand you don't get out under with this birth control, it's just a simple thing like getting and iud. I had an iud once, after my ds, but it fell out on its own less than a month later. So anyone with experience with it, any advice is helpful. I'm only 33 weeks now so I have time to decide birth control.

I had it done almost 2 years ago. U don’t have to be put under to have it done. It’s done right in the office. They gave me a shot of something (like an aspirin) in my butt about 30 mins prior to the procedure. I was able to watch the procedure being done as they do it with a scope. I had some cramping for about 3 hours after and during the insertion of the coils. But nothing too bad. I was outside playing with my kids a few hours after having it done. U will need to be on birth control for 3 months. Then u get an X-ray at 3 months post procedure to make sure your tubes are sealed. I have regular periods and have never had any issues with the procedure. I’m so happy I got it done. If u have any other questions u can always pm me

My cousin had it done, and got pregnant a year later. Although it was partially her fault because she never went back to make sure the scar tissue grew right ?

Had it done 3 years ago, went back to make sure my tubes were blocked, my body had expelled one of the coils, ended up pregnant and miscarrying. Had my tubes tied last year. I wish I just had my tubes tied in the first place. I would say don't get essure.

I heard that the percentage of getting pregnant with the essure is less then getting your tubes tied. Just do some research and talk with your ob about what u want done. I’ll say it again I’m really happy i got it done. My sister also had it done about 8 years ago and she’s never had any issues either

The thing is right now I can't talk with my ob. She's out of the country with a family emergency (her father isn't doing well apparently) I haven't seen her at all this pregnancy. I've been seeing her midwife and np this whole time. I have no clue when she's planning on being back or if she's going to deliver.

My husband is getting ✂ next month. I feel like my body has done enough heavy lifting for having and preventing kids. ?

I feel like the potential cons of Essure outweigh the cons of an unplanned pregnancy. I know everyone is different but after researching the law suits and living nightmares that many women are faced with, no thanks. I'd rather take a pill that I can cease immediately should a health hazard arrive. If I could be blunt... I'd urge you to get them tied.

My hubby is also getting snip snip in July. It's a effortless procedure lol.

I had essure done nearly 3 years ago, it went perfectly, never had any problems with them, I can't comment on it any more though as I've just had them removed along with my uterus due to other health issues.

I will definitely talk with my doctor about it and see what she recommends. I really think this could be a good option for me. Thank you all for your input :)
