Cutting calories WONT affect your milk supply?
Cutting calories WONT affect your milk supply?
I talked to a lactation consultant the other day, because I had concerns about my supply, while dieting. She told me a diet will not affect my supply as long as I'm not taking diet pills, and as long as I drink lots of fluids. So I dont need to add extra calories anymore!! My supply went down because I started back to work!! Duh!! Im an idiot. Milk supply is based on supply and demand. Since I'm working I cant nurse her every hour like I was able to while on my leave. She gave me tips to boost my supply, so I'm trying. Pumped 5 oz on each boob this morning!! That's a first in a while!! Yay!

Good to know. My pediatrician said the same thing, but I'm glad to hear a lactation consultant say that. I trust their opinion more when it comes to breastfeeding and things of that nature.

That's a relief! I've haven't made it over 1400 calories a day since I started watching what I eat. It was stressing me out so bad thinking my supply was going to suffer.
