Breastfeeding while dieting
Breastfeeding while dieting
I thought I'd increase my chances of losing weight by dieting, because I breastfeed too. Well doing research, I'm supposed to be eating no less than 1800 calories a day. Not only that, but not eating enough calories will cause your milk supply to go down, because I won't have the extra calories to give to her. Soooo how am I supposed to diet, when I can't cut calories? My fiancé is really on my ass too about making sure I get enough calories. So I will eat things like regular ranch instead of lite. Or I'll have a bagel with cream cheese.

I really need to be counting my calories... some days I don't eat and some days it's just one fast food meal. I feel like it is hurting my supply. I try drinking a ton of water, that's probably the only thing I am good at.

What about doing low carb? I haven't researched it yet, but I'm breastfeeding too and trying to find ways to diet that won't hurt my supply. When I finally look it up, I'll let y'all know what I find.

I was concerned at the beginning. But I have learned to snack healthily.. just eating the right things and making sure that I always drink enough. I am now 2 stone under my pre pregnancy weight.
I will always keep fruit to hand and houmous, carrots ect.
Little and often seems to have worked so far for me. X

I suck at calorie counting too. I would just about fall over if I lowered my supply since I work so hard to keep it up. I still eat a good amount. I make sure my plate is full of good foods. Lots more fresh fruit and veggies. I like cheese sticks and yogurt for snack. You're right so I'm going to be sure to add granola to my yogurt every time to add calories. Plus it's got rolled oats which is supposed to increase our supply.

It's so hard!! I get two good meals each day but before having her I would eat way more and healthy. No it's I grab what I can and feed her but I don't want to hinder my supply. Terrible water drinker as well
