HE WENT BACK TO WORK TODAY!!!

HE WENT BACK TO WORK TODAY!!!

This whole time my fiance has been lucky enough to be off with me and the baby. Well he went back today. 3 hours into being alone with the baby, I had to call my mom over to help. My baby girl has been nonstop crying, spitting up, wont eat, wont sleep....I had to go in my bathroom and cry once my mom got here. Ugh. Its so hard!! I feel like I cant even handle my own baby by myself! My mom has been here for 2 hours already and my baby STILL is wide awake crying. I just dont know whats wrong with her!!

That is how I feel about being home with my 3 year old. 40w+6d right now and cannot handle him for more than 2 to 3 hours alone. You would think my now I would have it down

Sounds like she may be having tummy issues. I'd ask your doc if you can try gas drops or something. Are you breastfeeding or formula feeding?

It's so difficult at times. I've been through that with one of my other children. You're not alone!! It's such a struggle at times. It's great you can lean on your mom for support. You're a good mom, always remember that. Someone once said to me (at a time I was struggling with raising two toddlers) -you are the mom who has been chosen to raise those kids- you are the mom they need, they are the kids you need...I don't know if that even makes sense but I chose to believe it and take confidence in it. Nothing about parenting is easy, they say labor is an indication of the years to come. But there is also great reward and unconditional love beyond words, smiles and laughter and so much fun to come. This too shall pass, I too couldn't get my munchkin settled last night, my hubby needed to go to emerge for chest pains and I had to drive him at 12am and was sleeping in the van with the baby while waiting for him-finally out at 3...well I was exhausted by the next feeding and she just kept on waking and fussing..I hear your frustration. It's not easy. You'll soon find out what's happening with her and find ways to soothe her. Chin up, you're doing great ❤️

Just wanted to share my oldest was a fussy baby, cried a ton, spit up every feed, and I felt like I could never console her. I went pretty stir crazy waiting for hubby to return from work every day & was excited for my maternity leave to end. In truth, the, hardest weeks lasted only a few months & even though they felt like an eternity at the time are now barely even a memory. And my 2nd (And fingers crossed 3rd will continue to be.. ) were both super easy babes. Hang in There! This too shall pass.

Who knows if this will help but when my daughter is extra fussy she usually has to burp more.

I had a lot of trouble with my first as well. My husband took a week off and my mom was here the 2nd week. I would watch the clock and count down the hours until my husband got home. My daughter wanted to be held constantly while I moved or nurse and I about lost my mind from exhaustion. When I went back to work and had to switch to formula because my supply quickly diminished I started feeling human again. Things will get better, I promise! I'm having a much better experience with my son because I've been through the hard times before and know what I need to do to avoid chaos.

Awww Amanda- you're literally made to be her mom. Trust in yourself (whoa I need to say that to myself). I'm glad you have your mom to lean on, but luckily we are here too. Have you tried gripe water tonight? And gas drops?

Also check her temp if you haven't already. I always do when I suspect something is up with Jude.

Does she fuss around the same times on different days? I'd talk to the pediatrician about her possibly be colicky. Or she just might be so worked up that it's harder to soothe her. I'd make a list on a dry erase board of soothing techniques and check them off as you try them during the fussy period. That way you're not driving yourself crazy trying to think of ways to calm her or remember what you tried.

And are you doing skin to skin with her at all? I find that when I do an hour of skin to skin with my little one right before bedtime, he has a great night and usually a great day too.

My husband went back to work and he decided it was a good idea for his dad and sister to come stay with us the first couple days. I was so emotional because she would cry the whole time she was awake and I felt so lost i mean for hours no matter what i did. Once they left and I was able to just get to know baby girl and let her cry it out for a couple mins without feeling guilty things got much better. Ive learned her hunger cues, Ive learned her cries when she needs a change, Ive learned that sometimes she wants to be put in her rocker with the vibration and music on cry for a minute and fall asleep. It took a week of being home by myself to figure this out, every night when my husband got home I handed her to him and went in the shower and cried because all I did all day was hold her and try to get her to stop crying or feed her or rock her so she would sleep and I felt like I had no idea what to do but do any of us really know exactly what to do every time our baby is crying. Just relax and know you got this mama!

Mjay I can't wait to be alone with my baby. SO went back to work last Wednesday. We've had visitors the last two weeks and although they mean well it isn't really helping me adjust to motherhood 100%. I need one day to just do my own thing. Sleep when she naps. Relax. Hold my baby. Let her rest without people wanting to hold her and keeping her up.

Ugh. I cant stand visitors. The first week home I was so upset because it felt like other people got to hold my baby more than I could! Then his mom came and stayed with us for 2 weeks. Its getting better now. I guess the "newness" is wearing off. But i couldnt be happier!!

This is my second baby and I had to call my mom at 9:00 to come pick me up the other night. My first was at her dads and my SO works nights. Sometimes we all need our moms or a break and a second set of hands and there is nothing wrong with that! You've got this mama and you did the right thing
