I went all out with my first son. We're having another boy and thankfully have all of our first boys old stuff still(he's only 16 months) so we don't have to buy everything. But, we are still buying him a ton of new things! It's so exciting

I did it with my first. I already learned my lesson. But enjoy and have fun! Go for it!

I'm having so much fun doing it!!! I told my fiancé that I'm gonna get myself in trouble lol
But I mean, how can you pass up a 6 pack of sequins bow headbands for $10?! Lol or super cute pink moccasins for $3?! Ya can't!!
I've been told newborn-3mos is the most common size people buy you, so I'm getting lots of other sizes. Barely any 0-3. But then again, she'll be born right around summer...so she NEEDS those cute frilly dresses and rompers!! But I have done thrift store shopping and plan on hitting garage sales come summer.

I went crazy overboard with my first ( which was a girl ) and looking back now I have boxes and boxes of dresses she never wore that still have price tags. I haven't bought a single item for this baby ( boy). I don't want to end up with boxes of clothes that haven't been worn and so I will just get a few essentials and that's it.

I wish! I got so much stuff with my DD and DS. I now how everything saved from both of them and my husband would kill me if I bought any thing else.

Me! It's our third but first girl I can't stop buying stuff
deleted-user·
Me! This is baby number 4, i have 3 girls and this bub is a BOY! Yay! So now that i finaly have the chance to buy boy stuff i cant stop ?
deleted-user·
Nope this is number 4 for me I have only bought 6 kimono tops, 4 pants, 2 sleepers in newborn and none in any other size because as much as you think you will dress them up everyday you just won't lol.

Me.... I am buying my son everything from onies - outfits. Now I am starting with pampers and getting the big stuff. And he will not be here until May. I am just making sure my lil man have everything he need. And I want him to have.

I think I just cleared out Baby Gap inventory during their 70% sale + 40% additional discount + gap cash promotion. Lol.

It's our first and we have spent a ton too!?. $3000 on the nursery furniture and another $3000 on big ticket baby gear (stroller w/ accessories, car seat/booster, infant carrier, high chair, swing, Owlet monitor, camera baby monitor, rocker/recliner, breast pump, custom handmade nursery decor, ect). My family is wondering what's going to be left on our registries. ?
deleted-user·
^^. Usually you wait until after your shower to buy all those things. I didn't have to buy a thing for my first. Also people will be kinda upset you didn't leave much to buy !
deleted-user·
^who cares if people are upset? Her baby, not theirs. Besides, it's not like they can't buy baby clothes or diapers/wipes if they want to buy something.
deleted-user·
^^ Oh there's still PLENTY of smaller items on my 2 registries.... I don't feel right asking others to buy a $400 stroller, or a $300 car seat, ect. My husband and I have waited until our 30's to have kids and do pretty well for ourselves financially and don't mind it actually. I realize everybody is in a different situation and have different expectations. ?

I feel like I'm buying a lot but in reality I haven't gone too crazy...yet. Some clothes, diaper bag, diaper, I have tons of free samples. My mom is the one going crazy. We decided to leave mostly everything for the registry to see what happens. A lot of family tend to chip in for the big ticket items. Plus we don't want 1000 newborn onesies so I want everyone to have a guide to follow if they choose. Plus we get a coupon for what's left in the registry if we don't get it and also money back from purchases from the registry so that's a win-win.

A diaper bag!! That's one thing I haven't bought yet...

I feel like I have since baby stuff is EVERYWHERE in my house, but in reality- I've barely spent anything. Almost everything I've gotten has been lightly used hand-me-downs (bumbo, boppy, small tub, car seat from trusted source, bouncy chair, clothes, etc) > the perk of having 4 older sisters. I've only bought a few older baby clothes (9-12mo & 18 mo) from a charity drive of name brand items marked way down and splurged on a small set of cloth diapers. I'm hoping everything else will be bought off my registry.
Oh- and as for nursery, my house is very small so the nursery doubles as a studio. Which means no crib/rocker/etc. just a piece of good storage furniture and pack & play set for baby to sleep in that I get free from a hospital class.
Love free stuff!

I'm hoping the majority is bought off my registry too. But I've seen posts that MOST people do not follow a registry. So that's a bummer.

I have bought crib dresser and glider... and some diapers that's all I'm in for until after showers!
deleted-user·
I know I have bought way to much and will probably buy more ?! We are having a girl after 4 boys so its so easy to go overboard with all the dresses, tutus, leg warmers, barefoot sandals, headbands, there is just so much more to choose from than with boys!
deleted-user·
Did this with my first lol thankfully we are having another boy so it can all go to use again ? he only wore some things like one time
