Surgery Anyone else have to have surgery to remove a cyst? Doctor said mine was measuring at 7cm.…

I had surgery to remove an ovarian cyst when I was 15 weeks. I believe mine was 11 cm. I didn't even know I had one until I woke up with horrible pain and had to go to the ER. I found out the cyst was twisting my ovary, which was the most horrible pain I had ever experienced in my life. So they also had to remove my ovary during the surgery. The recovery wasn't that bad. The first night I was pretty sore though and needed help to get in and out of bed. It also hurt to breathe deep or if you needed to cough or sneeze. But you get better each day. I was off work for 4 days. I'd say I was back to feeling myself within a week or 2. My baby was completely fine during the whole ordeal. Good luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery!

I hope you see this :( I'm starting to have side pain above hip and severe back pain, how would I know or it started to twist my tubes?

I would call the doctor or go in. I wasn't diagnosed until they did an ultrasound and could see what was going on. The pain I had was more in my lower pelvic/abdomen area. It did creep into my lower back area though. It felt like period pain but way worse. They had theories of what could be causing the pain such as kidney stones, GI issues, etc. before they did an ultrasound and figured it out, so I'd definitely talk to a doctor about it. I hope everything is ok and you feel better soon!

I suffer with cysts and it runs in my family. Luckily mine have never got to the point of being that big they need removing surgically. My sister however had 2 on her ovaries one the size of a melon and the other the size of a grapefruit. You're actually best getting them removed, I always get given antibiotics but the sacs generally will fill back up causing me to get another in the same place.

Thanks y'all, I was evacuated from the hurricane and was unable to go to the doctor, they had to reschedule my surgery due to it, no pains in two days now so maybe it'll hold off until surgery!

Just went to the doctors and they told me that mine was nothing to be concerned about and it was a 6 they usually say bigger then a 10 is when they start to worry

So crazy! Mine was a 7 and they wanted to remove it within the week.
