I called this morning as soon as I found out. The bank said that we should get the money back. I will defiantly prosecute. The more I think about it it makes me so mad!
@toric you can run most debit cards as credit and don't have to have the pin. Just when the cashier asks 'debit or credit' you say credit and you don't have to put in your pin, but it still draws from your account. It sucks it works that way...you would think ppl would have to put in the pin number bc it is a debit card and not a credit card, but nope! Everytime I lose my debit card (sometimes it will fall in between the seats in my car) I freak out bc I know if some crook finds it they are going to swipe it even though they know their dumb ass will be caught on camera.
OP have you already filed a police report?? They can look at the cameras where the person used the card, and possibly get a license plate number or something to ID the person. This a****** deserves to go to jail!
Pp is correct, they used it as credit. Just signed my name. Yes I filed a police report and the bank is suppose to call us tomorrow with the exact time the card was used, we spoke to the owner of the store and he is going to pull the cameras for us. I can't wait to come face to face with this person.

Call the bank and report it. I've had this happen, and my bank returned my money. Don't wait!

How do they use your debit card? Don't you have a pin you need to put in? Unless you know the pin a debit card is useless here.

I've had mine stolen a few times. Last time was for 1200 in Spain. If I can't find it immediately call and shut it down. I'm sorry it happened to you.

Prosecute! Stealing from you or your bank using your card is wrong, regardless of this "persons" reason.

Even my credit card needs a pin unless you're buying online.

I got my money back but they used the card for gas and there was no cameras outside.

They truly are. I'm lucky they didn't wipe us out completely. It's really not hard to be honest.
