Gripe water, bicycles with the legs, belly madsage, warm bath. Also might need to change formula or diet (breastfeeding) if it persists. Or change bottles if bottle feeding
Gas relief drops help us so far. I get the "little remedies" brand for tummy's. It usually strikes at night so I give her a preventive dose in the early evening feeding. We haven't had a screaming baby since :-) Good luck mamma!
I took an infant massage class and they covered the techniques covered in this article:
Gassy tummies are hard and non gassy tummies are squishy. We got to feel a non gassy babies tummy in class (we were the only couple still preggers in the class)
Omgoodness I just got Cameron to finally fall asleep after a few hours of being fussy. I know it's because his tummy hurt but I've never dealt with him that way so I wasn't sure what to do. I burped him so many times, I did bicycle legs, fed him, football hold, swaddled and then finally I gave him a warm bath and swaddled him after and he's been asleep for an hour now. Sheesh so stressful lol
Gas drops and tummy massage/bicycle pumps. I found YouTube videos helpful. I would get both legs and press firmly but gently into her stomach in clockwise motion (more firm as my daughter got older). If baby seemed to be trying to get gas out I'd hold legs in a little to try and help. Also massaging downward helped before the bicycle pumps. This usually helped her toot up a storm and feel better. Haven't had bad gas with my baby boy yet, keeping fingers crossed.

I use gripe water or gas drops, both work well for us. For the gas drops, I use the equate brand from walmart.

@lizzie, I give my son 1 oz of water when he's a little constipated. His pediatrician said it was ok. About a hour later he poops and feels better!
