My daughter did this. She was ebf and would only sleep if attached. Took a few weeks of me literally sitting next to the cot and trying to comfort her and not giving in to lifting her. It was heart breaking! I would also sleep in the kids room sometimes. It's taken a while- we went through a bit of letting her into our bed if she woke about 3 as I couldn't cope with getting up at that time everyday! We are now getting to the stage after more than a year but I'm not a great parent (know I'm going to get slated for how I handled it) but she is now sleeping through- tho she is in my bed now as I've had to sleep in their room for the last week due to hubby being ill and so she's having to readjust again (but will have to do it again next weekend as my parents are coming down so I'll have to sleep in there again!

Quinns the same he sleeps in his own room until about 1-2 then wakes up and won't settle again until he's in our bed. No advice but following xx

@vlc - nothing you have said there means you're not a great parent! It's all very well trying to be consistent etc. but when you're up at 3am for the x th night in a row, sometimes giving in and everyone getting some sleep somewhere (ie all in your bed) is the only way to be able to function the next day! I have also spent many nights on my boy's bedroom floor x

Cartez was like this bad, I just had to be hard and just leave him in his cot to moan it out, he wouldn't cry he would just moan and within 20/30 mins he would b asleep but I use to put his dummy In 100 times but when he was going to sleep, I would stand and rock him his bum lol so he knew I was there he soon got out of it by 1week xx

My son (now 4yo) was ebf til 7 months and also liked the attachment. He does still wake and come to our room occasionally but I just carry him back in each time. He's slowly learnt. No advice really just do what you think is best.
