Feeling sad

Any other mommies to be feeling neglected by their SO. My fiancé took a Holliday to "spend some time with me" but all he has done is play video games. He has been playing since 12 o'clock last night it is now 8pm that is over 12 hours straight.. Just feeling a little alone right now :(

All the time, I tired talking to him about it and we ended up arguing and he left. Even better :/

My DH does the same thing. His job is stressful and games "help him relax." But all he does is yell at the TV when he plays and gets pissed if I interrupt him. When he's not playing he is great but it's so frustrating to me. He is deploying in January and all I want is for him to spend time with me and not his Playstation.

I have a super gamer husband. Who has had some real issues in the past. But now he is so much better.

Best advice is: make plans with them ahead of time. If you want to go out for dinner. Discuss it hours in advance. I usually mentally prepare my husband a day before. And remind him a few times as well. I also give him a count down. "Don't forget we are leaving in an hour" "are you ready we are going in 30?" Ect.

It sounds really stupid. But they are in gaming mode. And most of these online things other people depend on you playing. So it's even harder to walk away. But if they know at 4pm they have to leave they can inform their friends as well and it just goes smoother.

Also talk about boundaries in a calm matter when they aren't playing. My husband gets really touchy if I complain when he's playing and it's guaranteed fight.

Our agreement was he plays after the kids are in bed and not past 2am when he has to work. He usually sticks with it.

I have been with my SO for 4 years now and if I tried to give him boundaries he would go crazy because I was "telling him what to do"

Tell him to get off or your going home. I couldn't deal with an intense gamer or at least allow it.

Have you said something or are you waiting for him to get off when he's ready?

12 hours..... I have no words. He sounds like he may be addicted.

And of corse I tell him I ask him all the time to come off and spend time with me but he just gets all defensive about it

Sorry I was confused cus you said you were on a little holiday. I though you were away from home.

What happens when you try to bring it up when he's not playing?

He just tells me to be quiet and shut up, he never wants to talk about it. It's got to the point where I have cried to him and he still never listens

You need to set boundaries that are fair to you both (my dad got addicted to online gaming and it nearly split my parents marriage up- it's now agreed he goes on every other night). If he won't have an adult discussion with you about this and come to some sort of compromise then you really need to decide if you want to stay in the relationship and if you choose to do u can't keep moaning about it as he's set his boundaries and if you dodon't accept it ull both be miserable. If it were me I'd walk if he wouldn't come to some compromise xx
