I would still put one up, I love Christmas and can’t wait for my little one to see the tree and all the decorations.
I get what you mean though there probably isn’t much point when your not there on Christmas Day but your little one will love the lights of it and probably get good stimulation from looking at it.

I bearly made it to put it up myself last year when prego - and only because I told hubby that it’s up the day after thanksgiving and out at the end of January. If I’m making the effort it will be for more than couple of weeks.
I will do it this year Bc it’s baby’s first Xmas. That’s the only reason.
I say go for it if your hubby agrees. Christmas is such a nice time (for most people) and just having a tree lit up puts people in a good mood. Tis the season to be jolly.....my husband loves Christmas and puts a tree up right after Nov 11...for me I don't really care as long as a tree is up a few weeks before Christmas day.
But you know your family, if it's a hassle then enjoy your in-laws tree ?

However, I really don't think there is an issue with not putting one up for your reasonings. And like you said there will be a tree at your in laws so it's not like Damien won't see a tree at all. I think it's a good idea to get the little one for Robbie. And if he's happy with that and you don't want to put it up I think that's fine.
Thanks for all the input, I know I can always count on my girls. I'm not a huge christmas person so I didn't think much about the tree, but I still try to make the season special for my kiddos. Every year Albany does a big tree lighting so we'll be taking the boys to that as well as lights in the park which is an amazing 2+ mile display of lights and a Santa village at the end where we get our pictures with Santa. Damiens lucky too, he gets to meet another Santa since we also take Robbie to the mall for their sensory friendly christmas event with a Spectrum Friendly Santa. I just want understanding why my mom almost lost her mind lmao, but seeing some of your responses it makes sense. She is definitely a Christmas person. She already has the lighted reindeer out front and she'll start her baking the day after Thanksgiving so I can see where not having a tree would be unheard of lpl. Thanks again girls.
I wish I could put up our tree now!!! I love Christmas! I would still put one up, if we weren't gonna be home. I just love the feeling and ambiance of Christmas lights :)

We are getting a mini on with lights (those little table top ones) for robbies room so he's super happy. He's very easy to please luckily.
Oh an I forgot to add we have 3 cats who think the tree is their gift lol.. so that adds more hassle lol.
