OT Rant.. Think it's time to find a new bestie.
So my "bestie" just bailed on us for Halloween even though we've gone together for the last 6 years.. she was nice enough however to shoot me a text inviting us to go with her family, her friend and her friends step daughter. While I'm considering it for my oldest, if his friends don't come through he will be trick or treating here alone, I'm not crazy about driving 40 minutes on Halloween night on a school night to go trick or treating with the "friend" my "bestie" decided to trade me out for. Sorry rant over.

What the heck? I'm lost. She bailed and then invited u go ho with her and another friend? Ugh she's such a piece of work.

Pretty much, and she didn't even technically bail.. no pretext, nothing, just "going with someone else, you want in".. I posted a photo of the only text I've received from her in 2 days.

Woooowwwww. I’m baffled ?Why do people do crap like that?! We had a friend like that. (Notice I said “had”) he would plan to hang with us and then bail. He would say he’s busy and then text DH later inviting us out with his other friends ?

@april, yea I should have seen this coming tbh. When I told DH his exact words were "why are you surprised, she bails on you constantly?" I just feel bad cause we've been friends 28 years.. it's hard to just let a friendship of so long go.

It was all very inconsiderate of her. I can't imagine driving 40 min on a school night for tricker treating. Did you respond yet??
I have this "friend" as well but she's single and lives in a fantasy world. We were friends all through high school, college roommates, she moved cross country with me and my ex and back when I divorced. It's hard.

@emilie Yes I responded. I told her I'd let her know by the end of the week cause I was waiting for my oldests 2 best friends to let us know their plans. I just don't want my oldest to be alone especially since he feels like this may be his last year. The only plus side is the girl lives near my parents so we can have dinner with my parents and they can see the boys without having to drive down here.
I'm just hurt mostly that she did it in such an impersonal way. Like I was an after thought.
