Rant.. people are low..
People who make fun of overweight people exercising deserve a special place in he**. Heard some boys (they were adults but don't deserve to be called men) making fun of a larger woman jogging today. It struck a serious nerve. As a teen I decided to start jogging and made it around the whole block I was so proud. The next day at school some kids who saw me made fun of me and made "earthquake" jokes. I haven't jogged or exercised in public since. How low does someone have to be to make fun of someone trying to better their lives.? P***ed me right the f*** off.

Ugh people can be real a****** s sometimes.

a****** s. I've had former friends do that and I told them about themselves real quick.

That's like making fun of sick people for being at the Drs

I quit my schools gym for this reason. Football player dudes from my school gym laughed at me. I'm not even big. They would also catcall the cheerleaders kinda. Sadly the person supervising never did anything because he was friends with the guys.

It makes me really happy seeing overweight people exercising. I got mad at my mom a couple weeks ago trash talking an over weight guy for texting while walking around the track. He's walking, who cares if he is on his phone!

Yesterday we were outside bed bath&beyond, there's a gym next door to it and I see 2 separate women park then walk into the gym. Right after, a 3rd woman gets out of her car in leggings and a tank and I'm like, oh cool she must be going to a gym class with those other ladies and dh is like, looks more like she's going to eat Twix bars than workout ?. I got sooo mad at him and said, that's horrible to say, you don't know anything about her, maybe she just started going and wants to get into shape. But dh is really insecure about his weight and gained a lot this past year so I don't know if that has something to with it and in reality he's the one who is eating twix bars instead of working out.

People can be horrible...but here's a laugh courtesy of karma- my ex once made a rude comment about a woman's weight and almost immediately the expensive Oakley sunglasses that were propped on his head literally exploded! I mean shot off his head in pieces for no reason...served him right ?

I would have told them off. Little bitxch boys

This is exactly why I won't get a gym membership. I can actually get it for free, but still refuse. I went to a gym that my apartment had for a little while. I went late at night because there was usually no one in there. One night a girl I worked with that hated me came in. The next day at work she had said all of these horrible nasty things about me to all of our coworkers over 2 shifts. I was humiliated. These are grown women! I've never stepped foot into another gym again and I probably won't. ?

People suck and the ones making fun of someone have something going on in the background.
And to all the ladies that stopped going because some made a "fat" joke or said anything ugly... f*** em. Go back to getting your healthy on and let them eat their words.

Don't let it get you down pp! Work out for yourself and don't give a care what others think!

That's awful. Words can stick with a person for life
People need to start somewhere, anywhere. I love seeing people who want to change & become healthier so anyone who makes fun of a person for trying is not a good person

That's horrible. I'm glad I've never seen this happen at my gym

That has always bugged me too. I always called my friends out for doing that. My mom was overweight most of my life. It hurt me to hear kids on occasion making fun of her. To this day she has had the biggest heart and was the most giving/considerate person I had ever known. She taught me how to find beauty in everyone and how beauty comes in all shapes/sizes/colors/etc. Now I feel sorry for the people whose idea of beauty is so limited. They miss out on some truly amazing people.

My son is 17 and he was talking about that the other day! My son always goes to the gym and is in shape and he said the other day he doesn't understand why people find it funny to see a bigger person at the gym. He said he would honestly rather see bigger people at the gym than smaller people cause it means they are trying to do something about their weight and get healthy and it's more of an accomplishment for someone to lose alot of weight than it is for average size people to get in shape.

I'm so glad to see all these positive responses.
High school was a long time ago for me, but I still remember the hurtful words.
