overreacting?
I have type 2 diabetes that was never really controlled pre- pregnancy but since I convinced I have been working very diligently to keep my BS controlled. I see an Endo once a week, test 4 times a day, use insulin 4 times a day and have worked really hard to maintain a High protein low carb diet with great results.

I think your hormones have you overly emotional, especially since it seems no one wants to cater to your needs during this special time. My endo and diabetic nutritionist told me eating sensibly is the key. I was also told a certain amount of carbs are essential to a healthy baby. Just practice portion control and don't stress you and the baby out. Enjoy your holidays!

I'm also type 2. I think you'd be fine to have a piece of lasagna just don't go overboard. One cheat meal won't hurt, relax and enjoy your holidays mama

Also I fluctuate my insulin levels based on what I eat, if I eat something with more carbs I take a few extra units, ask your doctor if you can do that maybe

Thanks ladies. As I've had time to calm down I am seeing a little more clearly. I think it was just my own mother calling me spoiled hit a hormone nerve. I emailed my endo and she said the same as you ladies, just have a high protein breakfast and lunch and use moderation at dinner and enjoy my holiday and the fact that I don't have to cook.

Maybe offer to bring a big garden salad as a side dish and load up on that?

Chin up! You're doing a great job taking care of yourself and your baby. Remember that you only truly control own actions. Focus on that. Bring your own food, forgive others for their limitations. Enjoy the holidays and turn it around to make sure you have a great time.
