Pre-wash poop residue help!

Are they coming clean after your main wash? I would occasionally have residue after my pre wash while ebf and never had any problems. Are there any larger items in the wash too? Also is your load is large enough to get good agitation? Your wash routine looks good, I don't think you should have to spray unless solids are added.

I just checked the main wash. There's still residue. Small bits, but it's now on almost all of my diapers.

I don't have large items in there. I always have to add clothes to get a full load for the main wash. It's always the babies clothes, and our shirts, pjs, underwear, etc. I don't add towels, sheets, or jeans. I just don't know why this is happening all of a sudden :/

I'm sanitizing my washer now and going to rewash the diapers.

Are you fluffing everything between pre and main wash? I also EBF but I spray all poopy diapers. On occasion I will skip one but they all come out only stained but no residue or bits. After the main wash there still might be some stains but sunning gets them out.

I am fluffing. I'm going to give it one more try, and if it doesn't work then I'll invest in a sprayer. I'm trying out liners till then.

Should I add something else along with the Tide? Or maybe do an extra rinse during the prewash?

Did you test for hard water or soft water? If your water isn't hard, I don't think adding anything else will help. It may not be a bad idea to invest in a sprayer. You'll want one once you start solids anyways. I got mine at Buy Buy Baby and was able to use coupons on it.

I need to test. I know it's not soft water, but i also don't know how hard it is. I'll pick up a kit next time I go to the store. That might be the problem

What's your water level at for prewash and wash? Should be large or extra large and not washing more than 18-24 diapers at a time.

I have one of those HE top loader washers that senses the load. I'm not sure about the water level. I changed my prewash routine and I've had success. I was doing a quick wash at first, so I switched it to "normal" and i haven't had any residue left over :)

Oh good :) You should still test for hardness though. You might get an even better wash if you need to add something like borax. But you'd only know if you know the level of hardness.

I think maybe your water level is too low during your prewash. My washer also senses load for water level. Someone once suggested to add a single wet towel to my load. This causes your machine to use more water. So now I have 2 old stripped(like my inserts) towels that I alternate between and wash with my loads. But maybe your washer has a setting that uses more water and then you wouldn't need to try and trick it.
