I had GD with my daughter and she was 7lbs 4oz. My numbers were pretty good and for the most part I was able to keep it under control with Diet alone. I ended up needing insulin before bed because my fasting numbers weren't what the doctor wanted. They were 95-97 and the wanted them at 94 and under.

I was induced 11 days before my due date because they thought I was having a big baby. After 3 days in labor my contractions stopped and although I dilated to 10cm the baby wasn't coming out. They did a c section and then the doctor explained that my daughter's head was tilted the wrong way so she would have never come out. My friend on the other hand had GD and went into labor on her own and had a vaginal birth. Her daughter wasn't big ( I think she was around 7lbs). I know how you feel about the diagnosis, I was so angry and upset. I felt like my body was betraying me, but the doctor explained that it had nothing to do with my diet and that it wasn't my fault.

Thank you for sharing! I got my monitor today and started tracking everything I eat. It's just scary to hear the risks that come with having GD. I've had a great pregnancy so far. So it was a tough pill to swallow when I found out that I had it, because I too felt like my body let me down and that I was already letting my baby down. But the dietitian also explained that it has nothing to do with me and everything to do with hormones. It just sucks!

I had it with my first and I was diagnosed before 16 weeks. This pregnancy I passed the first two tests and failed the third and final one at 28 weeks. It is strange how our bodies react so differently to each pregnancy. I had to watch my diet and take medication with my first and she was only 7lbs10oz and was born at 40 weeks 1 day. With this pregnancy I have just been doing diet.

Had 3 GD pregnancies. 2 inductions 0 c sections. Diet controlled first 2 times and with my last insulin at night. My babies were not huge.

DS 5lbs 4oz

Dd2 6lbs 11oz.
