This happened last night.
So I got home around 7:30pm with the kids and there was a young guy an older woman and older man walking around my small complex. Eh didn’t really think anything of it. Then the young guy approached me asking if I had pot to give him. Well I don’t so I said no. At about 11pm I went out front because I heard my neighbors talking loudly and was informed that my upstairs neighbor saw the young guy looking in my back kitchen windows and pacing outside them. When asked what he was doing he said he lived here. It’s only 3 small buildings with 4 apartments in each so we all know each other. He was told the cops were being called. When the cops got here my neighbor explained what was going on and they told

This seems so strange to me. The police here get in arguments between people on the street. What state do you live in?

My neighbor Called the police because this young man was looking in our windows and such. When the cops arrived he explained to them what he had observed and that’s when they told him he had no right to ask this young man what he was doing and why.
I am in Arizona.

Are the comments cut off for anyone else or just me?

That’s weird, your neighbors had every right to call the cops and report suspicious behavior. Regardless of if the person in question has autism. Why was he looking in your windows?

They told
Me he didn’t understand it was wrong to do.

Sounds odd because why was his parents letting him approach people and letting him look in Windows? Where they using him to do these things for an excuse? Sounds like something along those lines ?

If it is public housing they can definitely investigate. If not, it’s difficult. Sorry you had to go through that.

That’s why I said I wasn’t that upset when I found out he was autistic. But the parents should have been help responsible for not watching him better. Why was he allowed to wander around at 11:30pm looking in peoples windows?

Sorry cops, that is called “neighborhood watch” and is ENCOURAGED for safety. Wtf. Doesn’t matter that the guy ended up being autistic. If he doesn’t know it’s wrong to look in windows and loiter suspiciously, he needs more supervision in public.

Very strange. If he doesn’t know right and wrong his parents are liable. If you feel threatened bc someone is peering in your windows, that’s not ok. I’d go down to the police station and ask more questions.

When I told my mom about it she told me to file a complaint with the 2 officers.
