How would you respond?
If someone who has narcissistic tendencies who has no remorse for the things they've done to you approaches you and said they forgave YOU which is obviously a ridiculous thing for them to say, how would you respond?

I'd cut them outta my life ??
Time on the earth is too short to be dealing with someone like that.
deleted-user·
Ignore them and cut them out.
deleted-user·
The fool would be cut out of my life.
deleted-user·
"Hahahaha -- gtfo."

Roll my eyes and keep on moving. No point in reacting or letting it affect you, people with real narcissism will not (cannot) ever change.
deleted-user·
I would say ... "gee thanks".
And try really hard to not roll my eyes.
Then I wouldn't give that comment or that person another thought, because I have better things to worry about ( like if I'm going to get a nap or not, or what color I paint my toe nails. ) than what a narcissist thinks or says to me.
I know my worth, and I don't put up with stupid mind games. And I sincerely hope you know that you deserve better than to have a narcissist upset you with their crappy comments.

I would simply laugh, and exit from their life.
deleted-user·
Hahahaha *walk away*
*look back* hahahaha
*continue walking*

In the past hit them in the head with a wrench and push them down a flight of stairs (true story from many many years ago)
Now just completly remove them from my life and tell them to fornicate with sandpaper.
deleted-user·
I'm such a a****** lol so I probably would have been like "oh my gosh!! Thanks so much. I've been worrying myself sick over the thought of you never forgiving me. What a huge burden off my shoulders" then would walk away ???♀️
deleted-user·
It's not worth a response honestly. If they text you it don't respond
deleted-user·
Over the phone? Not say s*** . In person? F*ck off for good.

I was more looking for petty comebacks but it would probably be best to just ignore it lol. Thank girls:)

Best thing to do with ppl like this is ignore them. They are just trying to get a reaction out of you and the more you react the worse the behavior comes. Ignore them and they will feel lost and eventually give up.
deleted-user·
Ignore it. Sorry but they don't care. It's about them only and they are always right. Nothing you say will matter to the. My dh parents are and it kills me at times. The very worst story I have
Sorry long
About 5 yrs ago my dad had ALS couldn't be by himself my mom was just diagnosed with colon cancer and had to have surgery. It was mil birthday that week but my dad had to stay with us for a week andvtake him back and forth to see my mom (dh grew up not even knowing when his mom's birthday was cause they never told him when he asked) so dh calls her a few days before and says "we are going to be busy cause of the stuff my parents are going thru so I want to tell you happy birthday now) so the day cones I transport most of the time but dh had to help with stairs to porch and bathroom and all that. (He had to carry my dad up three small steps) so a few days later my dh gets thus NASCAR email about how vad of son he is and t him and his brother always make up excuses. (So now both my parents potentially dying is an excuse) and its like 3 pages on about how ungratefull they sre. So dh emails back saying I called mom a few days before her birthday to tell her happy birthday.
So at the end of that year my dad died dec 13. They came to his funeral which I wish they didn't. So we were sitting in hallway after the luncheon was served. His parents come out to say they are leaving. His mom had the balls to ask us what we were doing for christmas, if I wasn't in my church I would have has a few choice words for her. Last thing on my mind at my dad's funeral. I wish I would have at least went off and made a scene, I just said since it's my mom's first year without my dad I will be with her.

I would say "thanks" and never talk to them again. That's it. You can't get through people like that so it's best to ignore and move on. And most of all don't react!
deleted-user·
I'd want to be petty betty and come back with stellar sarcasm, but my personal experience with narcissistic people says that just fuels their fire.
Ignore it. That will get to them the most.
deleted-user·
There are 2 people in my immediate family who are true narcissists. I've honestly gone to therapy over these people to learn how to deal with them.. my best advice is to ignore them. A true narcissist will always believe they're right and doing anything other than ignoring them will just give them satisfaction. Any type of response is exactly what they want whether it's negative or positive. They want control and if you give any response, they win (in their eyes). Nothing gets under their skin more than being ignored or not acknowledged.
deleted-user·
I agree with Nancy on this one. Dealing with someone like that has made me bitter. I'd either ignore or say well I haven't forgiven you so when you are ready to apologize...
deleted-user·
I would say Thanks ? I forgive you also.
deleted-user·
"Are you forgiving me, or yourself?"
deleted-user·
"Wish I could return the favor." And then never speak to them again. You'll never win.
