My heart was breaking
So dh and I got a night out without the kids last night. We went to the water park. Well it was dark at this time and as we were running to the next slide I saw a little boy maybe 3 or 4. He was alone and looking around. I told dh I thought he was lost. I stopped and asked him if he needed help. He burst into tears! I just wanted to hug him and tell him it would be ok! But I didn't want to seem creepy haha. He managed to say where's mommy? Dh got a life guard and I told him the lifeguard lady would help him. He looked so scared :( but the lady took him and brought him to the office. It made me sad thinking what if I didn't see him? What if some creep came across him?

That happened to me at this huge model train convention. It was a huge convention center hall filled with thousands of people and tons of kids(imo a pedos dream...chaos and little kids). It's so easy to lose a kid in there with the slightest distraction from you or your kid. As I'm walking with my boys I noticed the saddest looking little boy (3 or 4) all alone. I helped him find an employee and they got all took over trying to find his mom.
You never know, but awesome that you noticed him and got him help. Takes a village sometimes:)

This happened last week at the y's outdoor pool there was a little girl maybe 5 crying that she couldn't find her dad. I asked her if she was ok then called the lifeguard over and she helped her find her dad. The sheer panic on her face made me so sad. But happy ending she was reunited with her family very quickly

I understand it's sometimes easy to lose sight of your kid. I couldn't imagine that feeling. It's so sad. I'm just glad for people like y'all cause there are so many scary/creepy people in the world. ?

So sad and scary! Thank god for good people like you! I always tell my kids if they somehow get separated from us and can't find a police officer or someone in charge (like a lifeguard or manager of wherever we are) to look for a mom with kids. I feel like a mother will do anything they can because they know the heartbreaking feeling even if it isn't your child.

Something like this happened to me a few summers ago. I pulled into the parking lot at a busy park & there was a little boy walking around the parking lot alone crying. I went over and asked him where his mom was & he was hysterical and saying that she left. I calmed him down by asking him some questions about himself and asking him where he last saw his mom. He told me the playground. So I held his hand & we walked over there. Sure enough, his mom was sitting there on a bench chatting with a friend. She hadn't even known that he'd left the playground. Instead of thanking me (whatever, no big deal) she began SCREAMING at her son about how he never listens and blah blah blah. It was so sad. All he needed in the moment was a loving hug from his mom. ?

I went to a water beach park 2 weeks ago. This little 4 year old was playing with dd and me for an hour. When i asked her where her dad was she said "i dont have a dad" i asked here were her mom was she said "i dont know" when I finally found the mom, she waa on the other side of the beach water park with some guy :(
You did the right thing. Some thing terrible could have happened to him
