Let me up the antics she is constantly saying they're broke. But she works 2 jobs and gets paid 10-12$ an hour. And your dad works 40hrs a week making like $15/hr he only gets $20 a week from her. All of his money goes to the bank account. He doesn't know passwords or anything. So he has no idea what the money situation looks like. But now you're wondering if they're broke how can she afford to go on this trip and buy nice things? Yet when he wants to get a little something for him she says they don't have the money.

I wouldn't think anything. My mom said she was going out with friends so I asked who and it was 2 girlfriends from high school while my dad was with one of their husbands. My parents also always say they don't have money but I have seen what they have in checking. Some people just don't like to be honest about it

I don't know but I would probably be suspicious. And to add, my grandparents have always been like this in the financial sense. My grandmother controls the bank accounts and all of the money and my Pap has to ask her for money. It upsets her that he has started drinking beer in the last 10 years or so, but he never drank before in his life and I feel like the man deserves to have a beer here and there if he wants it, but he has to ask her for money so she tries to control his drinking that way. But it was always like that, before he ever picked up the first beer she always dominated their life like that. And as far as the trip goes, if my mom was being very vague like that I would probably assume something suspicious was going on

I make $15 hour and at 40 hours a week I bring home about $2k a month which would cover rent and some food so I'd believe they could possibly be broke-ish.

@lil I understand where your coming from. However they are renting and just sold their house for half a million and they both have inheritance when their parents passed not too long ago.
