Ladies in Arizona... What the hell is going on!? There have been like 700+ reported wrong way…

Well that's unnerving.

I know, it is so scary! I don't know if it has always been this way or what. My friend is a police officer and has to deal with many fatalities and serious injury related wrecks because of this!

I live in a small city . There has been a couple of accidents because of new roads that people are unfamiliar with .

I'm from Arizona so up until this time of year there are a lot of "snowbirds" there that don't know the roads and in my opinion really shouldn't be driving.

I know the snowbirds can get annoying but I don't remember this every being so bad. Was I just oblivious? And they aren't new roads. They are freeways that have been around for awhile. It's getting the point that it's like every 2 or 3 days I hear about a wrong way crash and fatalities. It makes me scared to drive on highways.

Minus 3or 4 years I have lived in Az my whole life. I'm not new here so it just seems like this never used to happen this bad.

I haven't heard about it until the past year. Seems like there's one every day. They need to make it harder to get on the wrong way. Around Val vista and the 60 I would understand that ramp. I almost got confused with it at night when I moved to gilbert.

Other ramps and freeway entrances are less confusing but there are some where if someone is older or can't see well or drinking I could see them accidentally getting on the wrong ramp

I should also add when I almost got confused I was 18 and not as experienced driving lol.

Now it just makes sense if vision is bad, drunk, or older.

They should put the spikes on the ramp so if you go the wrong way you lose your tires

Sarah I think most of these driver are under the influence. Drugs and/or alcohol. It just scares me. Because it is almost every day. But they just passed using some sensor to prevent wrong way drivers. Hopefully it works

I'm from a small town in Arizona and it was always bad there. There weren't a lot of accidents because the speeds are slow but they were always on the wrong side or drifting over lines.

I live in Southern California now and I'm extremely cautious and aware of what other drivers are doing because I just don't trust them. When the lights turn green I look both ways to see if anyone is going to run the red light, I try to keep my space between cars.

No sure about wrong ways where I am but I image it could happen as there are one ways everywhere. Where I'm from one ways are few and far between so coming here was a bit confusing. Definitely didn't happen often where I was from. Only saw it once at about 11pm and I don't know how the heck the person ended up on the wrong side.

I do constantly see people run red lights here to the point where green doesn't mean go, it means look at who has a red because they probably haven't stopped.

I lived there for 2 years in the Austin area but we moved to Az. I want to go back.

It is crazy! I just moved back here and it is scary how often it's being reported. I was just asking my hubby if it's because of Facebook that we are hearing about something that's always been a problem or if this is a new thing going on.

I'm in New Jersey...oddly there was a story about this very same thing here where I live! Scary very scary!

I woke up to CBS reporting a wrong way driver on the 71 freeway out here. The police "let her slide" because she was older and confused. WHAT?! What if she had killed someone?!

I just read about the 71 incident also RIGHT after reading this! Can't believe it was on video, pretty sure I'd shat my pants. That freeway is so short too so I wonder where things went wrong

The other day I was driving here in Tempe arizona and the signs above the freeway that have messages said "wrong way driver ahead, be cautious" like it's so common it's unbelievable.
