So Bil and his new wife told us after moths of trying they are pregnant! ? well before she met Bil she had a son and gave him up for adoption in hopes for a better life. She was in a very dark place. Also this info is not a secret. She has contact with him and the family. Well when they told Mil she hugged Bil then turned to her and said, "are you sure you're pregnant?" She was kind of insulted. But shrugged it off then said, "were sure I took like 5 tests." And laughed trying to lighten the mood. Then Mil replied, "well that's ridiculous!" Like lady what you just said was ridiculous. Anyway later on she look at sil ON Mothers I may add and said well now you can celebrate Mother's Day because well you're keeping this one right?" Like wtf!? Who says that lol. Is that an inappropriate thing to say? Or is it just me?

If I were your BIL I'd be letting my mother have it. That's beyond inappropriate. I'm surprised your SIL didn't react. Why is your MIL so against the fact that she choose adoption for her first child? If it wasn't your BILs child then your MIL needs a reality check... shoot even if it was his kid she needs to fix herself. I don't understand why we can't just be happy when someone tells us they are pregnant.

Uh no. If I was around and heard it myself I would shut it down. No need to be hateful to someone. She did adoption because she was a mother who wanted way better for a child that she couldn't give a healthy life for. That takes balls! I feel bad cause I'm sure that really hurt her feelings?.

I've had people say similar things to me. "You better keep this one". It's horrible. It hurts and thinking about it I could cry. Poor sil. Mil needs to be checked or not come around. That is not ok to say. What an insensitive human.

Hey I'm the sil in this situation! Thanks guys for standing up for me. This isn't the first time she has made comments similar to this about my sons adoption. My husband doesn't talk back to her because of how he was raised by her and doesn't like confrontation. She's a narcissistic person and is very manipulative with fake crying and playing the victim anytime we confront her on her behavior. She probably won't be allowed in my child's life if she keeps it up.

My in laws are pretty much the same way. When we found out we were pregnant with our second (4 yr between first 2) my FIL asked dh when he was getting fixed. He was like what? His mil said you don't want to be poor your whole life? Well after a few more mil started harassing me. I told her I told dh before we started officially dating I wanted at least 8. She saud WY stop at 8 why not 12? I said ok. She then said well why stop at 12 why not 20?I said I can do 20. She then took me serious and saud no no don't do 20. I said yes I think I will do 20. (Not really) but here I am on baby 9. And dh told his grandma cause we not expecting her around much longer and she told mil. So last time dh saw them she tried asking him by beating around the bush. He did not admit it. So the next day she asked my kids and they Fessenden to it.
Any way speak your peace now. Either she gets mad and not wanna see you. Or she keeps it up anyway or she stops. But if she keeps it up, then keep telling her you are being rude I don't appreciate it and I am leaving now. Then tell your dh I am leaving if you wanna come then come otherwise you need to find a way home. I wish I would have stood my ground at the beginning.
