Am just a hormonal batch?
So I was talking to my mom. She told me that my grandparents are having a triple birthday party for my brother, grandpa, and uncle on feb 12th. I told her ok I will do my best to make it. She got mad and was like I don't understand why you just can't commit to it right now. I told her I really want to make it. It's just that's like a month from my due date. I'm so exhausted already. I don't sleep well at all. Dh just got a job so I am chasing my 17 month old around all day. (I know many women do this and are fine and I praise them I'm just getting used to it.) also it's an hour and a half away. We're on a very tight budget and that's a ton of gas and dd HATES the car. And I can only drive because dh doesn't have a license right now, the car really f**ks my back up too. She told me well fine if people ask me I'll tell them you're probably not coming then. I said no just say that I will try to make it. I don't know how it'll be in a month that's why I don't want to say yes and then back out. She said fine and then hung up. I started balling my eyes out. I felt like she was being so mean. I know they want to see dd but I'm just so exhausted all the time.

I think it was rude of your Mom, not you. You told her you would really try to make it that's enough. Traveling when pregnant and a toddler is hard. Plus when money was tight with us I drove nowhere they need to understand your situation.

Thank you pp. I don't know why she was like that. I know she's stressing about some things so maybe that's it. But it just caught me off guard.

Just because you are invited to go, it does not mean you are obligated to be there. Instead of your mom being understanding or offering money to help make the trip, she is just being rude. Next time keep the conversation short with her

You're not wrong. If she wants to see your daughter, she should come to you. It's tough being pregnant and having a toddler.

I just want to praise sahm's. I know working mums have it hard too. I'm just saying I am new to it and damn it is exhausting. And then having the baby in two months. Gah. I love my 17mo she is such a character. But she is a turd. A lot. ?
