Had severe back pain, so I was looking up reasons why, and stumbled upon UTIs. I called my doctor and he said there are different types of UTIs, and he truly believes I have the kidney version instead of the bladder infection (kidney is apparently worse). He got on me a little for researching the Internet instead of calling him cause I was in pain, he immediately called me a prescription, told me to take it easy and keep my feet up as much as possible, and immediately call back if I develop a fever or the pain gets worse or hasn't stopped by Sunday.

Btw I had other symptoms I believed to be dehydration related, when I realized they matched the uti symptoms better that is when I realized they weren't, and when I called. So it was based off more then the back pain. I also have been cramping like period like cramps all day

Dr should had you come in to check and confirm. Not just diagnosed over phone and give meds. Cause it could been uti as i prone to them. I would go in and check before anything. Cause yes he can be right but without proper check how can he be certain ijs

I'm at work today and supposed to see him Tuesday, but I think he is concerned about the pain and the fact that kidney infections become serious fast without treatment, like permanent kidney damage and fevers. Depending on where you are doctors are prone to save people money by calling in a prescription

There are 2 types of UTIs, bladder infections and kidney infections. So he did say it was a uti, just the worst of the two types.

A kidney infection is a uti that has basically reach the kidneys I’m prone to then I get them once every few months I get back pain with all my utis a simple urine test will test you for a uti but as for it being a kidney infection you would be severely sick fever vomiting I’ve had those too it’s probably a uti just have them test you for it so you can get on antibiotics if your pregnant utis can cause uterine stress
