Diabetic friendly recipes
Please share your favorite diabetic friendly recipes. As some may know I lost my grandma not long ago. This has left my grandpa helpless. He doesn’t know how to cook! Or I guess use seasonings to make food taste good lol he takes a diabetes medication to keep it at bay. So it’s not type 2 or anything. Low sodium and low sugar? He has a pacemaker so I’m not sure if that has much to do with his diet. I have much to learn.

Hi. It is actually type 2 that's the type you're typically diagnosed as an adult and hopefully they can control it with pills and diet. Avoid sugars and carbs. Also if he has high blood pressure yes avoid sodium. I don't have any real recipes sorry. But avoid white breads rice sugar and processed. Be can have lots of vegetables but sparing on the starch heavy vegetables. Also lean meats are good for him. Some fruit that is low on sugar is good as well. So maybe make him and a crustless quiche for breakfast with vegetables and turkey and eggs. For lunch easy things like Tuna. It's very sweet of you to do this!

Oh sounds like I’m on the right track. So far I’ve made egg white, turkey, garlic powder, bell pepper muffins and a turkey chili. I have chicken and my mom brought a bunch of rice! So I’ll have to tell her that’s not good for him. I’ll figure out some other things. He loves carrots... I found a honey glazed recipe that says it’s diabetic friendly. I think he would appreciate some kind of sweetness. I think it’s only 1 tablespoon for 1 lb of carrots. Im probably going to change my diet to match so I can meal plan for us at the same time. Have you hurt, blueberry and granola for breakfast or snack too. Then chicken wraps and salads for lunch.... I just don’t want to make him the same things over and over.
