My sister was attacked by yellow jackets that nested in the backyard when she was a kid. She got stung all over her back, legs, arms and even on her head. My dad had to pretty much beat them off her and got stung a lot trying to get them off of her. If they are wasps, kill those bastards. They kill honey bees who are just beautiful creatures. ? I coexist with a hugeeeee colony of honey bees for years, never was stung and they would even land on us sometimes.
I would lean more towards yellow jackets. They are active this time of year, and nest in the ground. I hate seeing them on my lawns ? and the traps seem to only attract them to your yard even more. You might need to call an exterminator, so you and family won't get hurt.
What does it look like? Is it skinny and King with long legs? If so its a yellow jacket. They're bastards. If it's shorter and not as skinny it's most likely a ground bee and they're not nearly as aggressive
I haven't encountered any today to get a good look. But I have been inside. It's way too hot out to wait and see what they are. Supposed to be 103* today!
So they are wasps. My SO saw a few going in the holes the other day. I guess he sprayed wasp killer in the driveway hole and closed them up. But they are there again. He had no idea about the ones in the back yard. Ugh. I hate wasps. ?

I really hope they aren't yellow jackets. My dad accidentally ran over a nest in the yard with his lawnmower when I was a kid. It... was a bad day.

Oh that sucks- my son and I got swarmed by wasps from a ground nest.
