I think more people should be aware of its danger.

My strep infection was within mastitis. The boy in the story was from a scrape on his arm! I never felt it in my throat. That's what makes me think of strep first.

Oh no. Prayers for you. My sister had that and the antibiotics wouldn't work. She got her colon recolonized with good bacteria and got better quickly. Pray you both recover quickly.

I had c diff and was hospitalized for a week after being seen in the ER three different times. They don't know how I got it though. However, now I always take a probiotic when I take an antibiotic because it will replenish the good bacteria. Good luck. Hopefully the first round of meds works for you and LO is okay!

I'm sorry your your so sick and I'm really hoping your babes is ok!:( My so had a wicked case of c.diff about 2 months ago now and was in the hospital. Somehow, and thankfully I might add, baby Leo and I avoided it. If you have any questions about it I'm here! Doing my research at the time I discovered babies aren't as likely to catch it because their gutts don't have that certain strain of bacteria ... maybe that makes sense and fingers crossed!!! Have you got on probiotics since??? None of us will ever take antibiotics without doubling up now, and Leo is on the baby probiotic drops to help with his colic, I highly suggest that as a preventative measure. Hope you feel better sooner then later momma!

Ps-the multi pack of Clorox wipes from walmart was a huge time saver when we had to keep cleaning the house top to bottom!

Sorry to hear about everything you've been going through, I worked in nursing home as GNA, c-diff was common thing there.. it is highly contagious as I'm sure you've been told..if there's any way that you have a separate toilet in your home that you can use I'd recommend that. And get hospital grade Lysol and follow the directions precisely and disinfect every time you use the bathroom, (after washing hands)wash your hands thoroughly under nails etc for a minute. Spray bathroom door knobs and sink fixtures after washing your hands before leaving bathroom. I know it sounds like overkill but it's very contagious. Also before flushing make sure lid is down of course. I'm really sorry, I've seen how miserable it would make my patients and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Wow. My doctor didn't tell me any of this! I've cleaned a ton of things. Washed bedding with bleach, toys, bathroom, kitchen. All before I posted this. Because I'm not certain my LO has it, plus I don't want my SO to get sick, he doesn't have health insurance ? ahhh this is so crazy. I feel like calling into work today.

The first two tests came back negative, she sent a second round that came back positive. It's for sure c.diff. I should have said that in my initial post.

I have been on strong antibiotics for about a month. Both doctors suspected c.diff from the very beginning. And I wouldn't get E.coli because of the heavy antibiotics I was on. Because that is a bacteria not a virus.

How have you been doing? I was just diagnosed with cdiff and I am having massive anxiety issues regarding it. I have gallbladder pain and I have no idea if that is associated or not. I was told cramping is normal but this is like a constant ache.

Oh no, I'm so sorry you go c.diff! I'm doing better and I actually started taking keifer daily. It tastes horrible. I feel like it has helped a ton. I don't know how gal bladder pain would feel. I did have a lot of pain, everywhere. My body really took a beating after having group a strep.
