It may be petty, but isn't taking a drink that you didn't pay for petty? Would it be ok if someone stole your lunch? What about your car? Say it was free game being parked in the street lol. Drink, lunch, car.. to me it's all the same. It's stealing. No matter how small, big or how much it cost. It is wrong.

Bitter Apple spray. It's used to keep dogs from chewing stuff up and it taste awful. Spray it on the rim of a can if its canned drinks

I would tie a thread around a Mentos, put it in the lid of a bottle of pop, then close it up. Cut the thread off so he doesn't see it. When he opens it up the Mentos will fall into the pop and cause it to continuously fizz all over him. Or you could take the high road and add a case of drinks to the fridge with a note saying, to whomever is stealing our drinks, please help yourself to one of the refreshing beverages that don't belong to any of us, enjoy :)

Had this problem once at work. Somebody brought in a bottle of that stuff you spray on stuff to keep animals from chewing on it. You can get it at a pet store I think it's called ick I've also seen it called bitter apples. Dude never touched anything else out of the fridge again. He tried whining to the boss who laughed at him partially due to the really funny faces he was making after he finished gagging in the bathroom. Boss then asked him if he was really sure he wanted to make a complaint for not liking the taste of a drink he stole from the fridge that was clearly labeled with someone else's name also reminded him of the zero tolerance policy on theft. He put in his two weeks.

I'd set up a camera or ask your boss if there's a security camera. Most places have zero tolerance for theft.

Get your hands on some methylene blue. It's a dye that turns urine BRIGHT BLUE, used in medical procedures to see if urine has leaked. Guarantee the thief will stop after Smurf-piss.

I think the mentos thing would be hilarious. I wish I worked somewhere that someone was stealing my drink just so I could soak them.. or turn them all sort of funny dyed colors. Seriously, do something to make them really not do this again, not just use a camera. Like make this an entertainment opportunity for the office.. but don't tell anyone because then it may not work.

I saw a post on FB that a woman (must have been pumping at work) had a bottle of creamer in the fridge. She got back to it and it was empty so she taped a note to it saying something about whoever stole the "creamer" must have really enjoyed her breastmilk! So try something like that... Like if you get Starbucks add some bmilk or have a friend do it. After its gone either put a note on the fridge about what you did or tell everyone and see who's face goes into discuss and then you have your culprit! :)

If they choose to drink something you can't add milk into I'd do something mean like laxatives or what is it eye drops? Lol

Mission officially started. Planted the drinks. I didn't have time to do the mentos trick but I put one in with oragel and one with a habenjero(sp?) pepper. Let's see how long it takes for it to be taken.

Poke a small needle into the top near the rim then cut a small hole in the bottom. Drain drink out then fill with vinegar. Best results do it with lemon drinks. Fill from bottom of can then use hot glue gun to seal hole. Bam the thief will take a big swig of vinegar and probably be sick. Use a dye to catch them if you want.

I would think the oragel wouldn't work as good unless it was the thick kind. Only cause once it's on your gums it gets washed off real easy from spit. But the pepper one is the one I waiting for a reaction.

Like a dang fool I over looked this post so many times lol. Definitely need the dye to catch them. But it would almost be funnier to do the laxatives on a can first because even if they didn't blame the drink it makes them suffer. Then the next one would be full of dye and you would have satisfaction of finding out who it is and that they got the s*** s before.

Do they go missing over night? Could be housekeeping. I used to be one at a hospital (cleaning a couple of doctors offices at night when everybody was gone) and the ladies I worked with would take stuff from the fridges lol

We have someone at work that was taking frozen dinners and eating them then putting the empty box back in the freezer with a note on it mocking them. The one said -- mmmmm so yummy. No update. And our delivery driver is our cleaner. We have had construction crews in and out, it could be them. But as far as recording them, not sure how long the battery life is on the go pro, and I'm nervous someone will take it.

No we never found out who did it. We have some 24 hour teams in our building so it could have been someone there? We tried being detectives, analyzing the handwriting on the notes. The person wrote in all caps and looked like they were trying to change their handwriting. Both "victims" brought the note to their boss but not a whole lot the boss could do. An email went out to the building to be respectful of one another's things. Hasn't happened since the winter though.

Eta - we did suggest the camera in the room. Most of the building has cameras since its a secured building but nothing came of it.

I worked at a clothing store and the head loss prevention guy would steal food out of the fridge all the time. The guy who catches people stealing was the guy stealing coworkers food. Everyone knew it and he was upfront about it. I thought it was messed up. Glad I always took my lunch and left it in my locker.

No updates. I think it was the construction guys that don't work here... We did put laxatives in pepsi, the drink disappeared but no one said anything. I was hoping for an awesome outcome lol but construction is almost over. If anything starts being taken again I'll do the dye trick. It's hard to pin point when so many people are here.

Put some of that Bitrex (prevents babies from chewing stuff they shouldn't) in a drink you know the thief likes.. It is SO nasty it should deter him/her. If a few people did it at the same time, the thief might understand that everyone was into him/her.

I've been wanting to catch someone! I'm invested lol we will see what happens. But can't do much when drinks aren't going missing. Maybe they did suffer from the lax. And that made them stop? Not sure. But I need a controlled environment if I'm going to capture the thief. Too many people are in and out of the building at the moment. He's brought in two big crews to do floors and paint. They want grand opening to start in September.
