Best thing ever for sore, raw nipples for me was breast milk and fresh air! After a feeding let out a little milk, rub it on your nipples and let your breasts breathe. The more they can breathe the better.

The first few days are hard because you are feeding so often, as will it be with growth spurts. You can do this! Best wishes momma!

I would say for me it was sometime during my second week of breastfeeding. I used lanolin like crazy and it helped so much.

Mine were really sore for any 2 weeks to where I would cringe every time he would latch. After that I was a little tender probably for the first month ave now I don't even need any lanolin or anything unless he's feeding constantly like a growth spurt or after his vaccinations.

It took about two weeks for my nipples to stop hurting.

@groverhh provided excellent advice, also use nipple cream and cool gel soothies between feedings.

Mine took longer due to my little guy having latching issues. It took 6 weeks to be completely pain free. But by the 3rd week it was less painful. Cream helps, breastmilk helps, fresh air help, and for us the lactation consultant helped more.

I'm coming up on 3 weeks, and it's finally getting better. Still a bit sore when she latches on, but then fine once she starts feeding. Definitely not as bad as a week or two ago. It will get better. I'm not even using nipple cream or hydro gel pads anymore.

2 weeks for me. I used Honest Co. Nipple Balm

I didn't use nipple cream this time around and my nipples got stronger faster I used a nipple shield though and I think that helped a lot bc the breast milk surrounded my nips while she ate and breast milk is good for healing the nips! ?
