No, stretch marks are genetic so if your family had them you will too. But it can help reduce the appearance of them (kinda like mederma) and it's also very good to help keep the skin on your stomach moisturized to avoid itching.
If your going to get them bio oil isn't going to do anything to prevent them. But continue to keep your skin moisturized and it will help with the fading process for sure. I didn't get many marks and I did use different lotions and oils throughout my whole pregnancy & after, its a year later
I used it before I got pregnant ,I had stretch marks from gaining & losing weight, and it helped fade them a lot you couldn't even see the ones I had on my chest anymore . I mixed it with a vitamin e rich lotion and put on after the shower
I have eczema so I've always kept my skin moisturized. I pretty much have no choice lol I've been using pure coconut oil. I get stretch marks, this is my second pregnancy but I was wanting something that will help fade the marks. Initially they are red then fade in time. I am just curious if anyone has had any results from using it. I'm not looking for a miracle cream to take them away...
Virgin organic coconut oil really helps no chemicals all natural that stuff is a Merical worker have you ever looked up all the amazing benefits of that bad boy o m g you just simply can not go wrong !
Yes!!! I used Palmers cocoa butter with my first 3x a day and got deep purple stretchmarks. Then I used bio oil with my last two pregnancies and got ZERO.
I love it & it has a light fresh scent. I swear by it. My 1st pregnancy I used all sorts of "pure" & "natural" cocoa butters, oils etc. & still got stretch marks. I discovered Bio Oil my 2nd & 3rd pregnancies & didn't get any new stretch marks & it helps tremendously with itchiness.
Awesome ladies! Thanks for your input! And I use the virgin coconut oil by Shea moisture! I swear by that brand. It actually helped clear my horrible case of eczema! I just got some bio oil and will be using that too!

I'm not sure if my tan skin is to blame for the redness, I guess I thought that is normal.

I've been wondering if it helps fade them too, mine are purple/red
