Have any of you had back surgery the same year you conceived
I was in a small auto accident. I ended up with a herniated disk and as my last resort had a microdiscectomy between my L5-S1. I had a no bending, no twisting restriction, and no lifting more than 10lbs for 2 months after. That was February 19 2015, in due April 4 2016. It hasn't been long and I'm unsure of how healed/strong it is. I am terrified of being on bed rest. What do you think I should worry about most?

You should worry about anything. Did the surgery heal your back? I have the same disc herniation at L5 and was in the process of fixing and I got pregnant so I have to live with it. It's terrible.

I'm not sure how well it healed because I didn't follow my restrictions as I should... I still have pain. Just not a consistent pain as before.

I'm nervous about bed rest also. I was on bed rest with my last (not because of back pain, because of preterm labor). This pregnancy will be hard on my back I already know. Hard to guess if you'll be on bed rest.

My first pregnancy went well. I worked up until the day I delivered. If like to do the same this time to save as much as I can. Bed rest scares me because I'm such a busy body I need to be doing things. I can't stay still lol.

I had spinal surgery 10yrs ago & till this day it hurts really bad at times but I've learned to cope with the pain over the years. This is my 3rd baby. I waited 5yrs after surgery to have my 1st child. I had my last 2 natural.
If your worried about pain then you should consult with your dr now & see if epidural is a possibility during labor when the pain is intense. I was told that I would have to see a specialist prior to delivery if I wanted one but I always opted out of an epidural.

Ok. I have no issues with getting an epidural. But just hope I'm not in so much pain that k can't walk. I feel this pregnancy is too soon.

I broke my back(crushed my L2) in a car accident 15 years ago it was repaired with rods and screws this is my first pregnancy, I'm 34y/o and also worried I'm gonna end up on bedrest. The OBs don't think I will though and I'm over 26 wks now. I'm sore but doing okay!! Also the OBs are pretty sure like 98% sure I'll be able to have an epidural.

I hope I can have an epidural. I know over doing activities now hurts a lot. I think having a baby is going to be a big deal. Lol

I haven't had my first appointment yet. I'm 6w6d. My appointment is on the 26th and I will definitely talk to her about it. I'm just nervous. I don't know what to expect at all.

Just went to my first appointment and doc says I should be fine delivering! I'm so relieved.
