Once again Mil's dog attacked our dog. Last time this happened ours needed surgery and stitches. That was last week and $600+ down the drain. A few minutes ago I opened our downstairs door way too far and asked if Mil's dog was outside. Thinking he wasn't I let ours out but immediately called him back inside when I saw Mil's dog. Our dog ignored me and Mil's dog came around the corner and attacked him! ? I blocked him from attacking and he snapped at me. Then our dog jumped on him and attacked and our other two dogs jumped in since I left the door open! ? When I tried to pull them apart our dog ran down the concrete stairs. I kicked Mil's dog back trying to stop him from attacking anymore. Mil's dog bit my knee and bulldozed me down the concrete stairs and hurt me pretty badly. Now our dog may need stitches YET AGAIN! ??

It sucks to have to part with your furry family, but it is her house. Her dog has jurisdiction, so to speak, over yours. And some dogs just don't do well with others. Many dogs who are adopted specifically require there be no other dogs around. It doesn't take the pain away from losing your pets, I understand that. but in life there are sacrifices to make. I don't know your story, but I'm guessing live in the ghetto and keep pets, or love with MIL and no pets? Hopefully you guys can regime them to great homes they deserve.

Yeah DH is pretty broken up about it. I told him exactly what you said before even posting this. It's her house, and her dog comes first, regardless of how he's acting. He's really not an aggressor dog but he just had an unrelated surgery as well as gotten fixed, so he's in pain. Plus he's wearing a cone.
Our dog was sick last week as well so he's not to happy either. It sucks but it is what it is.

Are you kidding me? Completely honestly, was the aggression all on mil dog? If so, you need to go get bites looked at, and file a report and have that dog taken. What about kids in the home? It sounds vicious!

Thats not right that mil dog was attacking your dog and from the sounds of it you as well. Can you find a place to foster your animals while you are living at mil?? I know some vets have a foster program. That or call your local spca?

Yes her dog was the only aggressor and our three ganged up and defended us. Mil's dog tried to bite DH when he pulled him off. Ours didn't. I put our boy in the house and our two girls completely stopped once DH pinned Mil's dog.
He's snapped before when he doesn't like what we say (such as get away from the door so we can answer it). We'll try to grab his collar to push him back and he'll snap. I've never thought of him as an aggressive dog but now I'm really concerned. DS is only 11 weeks. What if he somehow upsets Mil's dog?

Right before the fight our dogs saw him bullying two of our cats over our cats brand new toy and they started barking like crazy. Ours growl whenever he comes near us or our other animals. They won't even let him be in the same room as DS 11 weeks. They all rally around DS and block the pathway.

I'll just throw this out there- our dog has never snapped at any of us, but if he ever did, I'd be re-homing him.

I think the safe way to pull dogs apart is grabbing the hind legs? I've nearly gotten in between two dogs before for fighting, but my hand would've been torn up.
Something has got to give here. Do you have a friend or family that could keep your animals for the time being? The idea of finding a temporary foster would be a good idea.
