Traveling Across Country-Two Weeks Old
Have you done it? We were planning to move back in with Mil when Ds was 6 weeks old (around September 1st) however last night someone tried to break into our apartment again. We live in a really really bad neighborhood and people constantly try and harass me when Dh isn't home. Well last night he was here and someone tried to kick in our door, twice. We're not sure if the gangsters are getting bolder or just thought Dh was still at work. Either way these people have been casing our house for months now and have tried wriggling the doorknob and also luring me outside on the nights that Dh isn't here. Our neighborhood is known for its kidnappings, sex trafficking, rapes and murders. People are too scared to call the police. Luckily our three huge guard dogs have protected us this far.

Baby will probably sleep a lot. I have no advice, but it sounds like you are doing what you need to do to keep your family safe. That is super scary! Just go with the flow for the trip. Stop when you need to. Good luck!

All states have renters clauses for safety I would call the housing Authority and see if your situation warrants breaking your lease... It's worth a shot the most they could say is no

First, what Isaiah said is true.
I moved back home with family when dd was 6 months old (from Tennessee to nevada). She and I flew and dh drove with our older boys. The cost of the plane ticket was worth not driving 4 days with an infant (which probably would have been 5-6 with her so 2 more hotel night costs). In fact dh and I had made the drive over there years ago (Nevada to Tennessee) while driving separate cars, so we could get both over there, and made it in 2 days. So if he hadn't had boys it would have cut the drive time in half plus he'd have just slept in car to avoid hotel cost.
Point is maybe you should fly and he can drive. It'll be faster for him to go alone and he can save the cost of your plane ticket by sleeping in car. Miserable? Yeah. Doable? Totally.
