Last time when a different kid swallowed a penny their dr had me go to er to get x ray to make sure it was in a path that would make sure it passed. We have a different dr now so I am wondering if I should call him and see if he thinks I should take any action. I am not digging to see if she passed it btw. I don't know what to do, this is the only 2nd time out of 8 kids in 16 yrs. I am constantly telling my kids if you don't plan on swollen in it and it's not gum it doesn't go in your mouth.

Omg lol. Kids are crazy. And lord help you because you have 8 of them lol. My brother got a Lego stuck up his nose when he was little and a skittle stuck in his ear. We never swallowed anything crazy though, there were only 4 of us. lol

I think it's worth calling about. At least it'll be documented somewhere. My daughter swallowed a rock a few months back and we had to check for it daily...that was fun. Better to err on the side of caution in a situation like this.

So your not going to check to see if it's passed? Did I read that correctly? That's not somthing I would ignore. A 15 min call is not going to take much to make sure. That's a foreign object in the body. I would be calling the doctor.

Ok called dr, watching her making sure it either a comes out, b making sure no bloody stool. He said in 2 weeks if we don't fine it we could have missed it but also may xray. why don't I want to dig in her poop. Let's just say I told my kuds G.I drs that when/if I by became a nurse I don't want to work in the g.i. field. We have done more stoll samples then I can count for other kids. But I will search poop to find it I just not looking forward to it. (I will tell her to poop when I am at work making dh dig through it)
