deciding I want baby #9 but I am breadtfeeding
My son is 10 months old, I have never gotten pregnant or period while bf. Even when I did for 18 months. I don't wanna stop nursing and he is getting solids and bottles when I work I don't pump to often so he gets formula or table food when I gone. He only nurses about once in middle of the night. I have been having mild cramps like I do when I ovulate or implant. It would be 13 days now since we last did it. Not counting last night. I tested tonight was - but even though I pretty sure I still not I will test when I wake up. But hod do I get pregnant when I nursing.

You can get pregnant while breastfeeding! Usually after 6 months and since you aren't exclusively nursing you can definitely get pregnant. My daughter was 9 months old when I found out I was almost 3 months pregnant.

See, I know you can, my sil got pregnant a few times nursing. I however never have. And he nurses a during day on demand and at night he feeds around 9 or 10 and wakes up around 3ish every where I read says going 6 hours at night and feeding solids and over 6 months you have a higher chance. I been having pains around overies like I an trying to ovulate. I guess if I wanna know for sure I could buy opks. I was hoping jot to go that's route since I jot even know when to test. I will have to see what happens.

I feel like everyone's different and maybe some people get pregnant easily while breastfeeding while others may not. I have an 11 month old that I breastfeed and have not had my first pp period yet and am not pregnant. Wish I was...

I just wanted it to accidently happen now because I know when I done nursing dh will be more careful... lol

I agree that different women handle breastfeeding and the pp period differently. Even the same mama can handle it differently after different pregnancies. If you feel that your body is trying to ovulate, it may be. It might be gearing up to ovulate but not quite doing it yet. I felt that way for months after our sixth was born. Maybe try charting your fertility signs and tracking them with an app like Fertility Friend to see if you can recognize any patterns.

@thistleweed we're in the same boat... I want baby#10, but still nursing my 18 month old daughter.. I just started getting my periods back, (3months) they're definitely not 28 day cycle like I normally would have.. I bought some opk to see when I was ovulating, and the week I should be, I started a super light AF?... So upsetting.... I too don't want to stop nursing, she's still does on demand and sometimes at night .. I'm hoping within a couple of months we'll be pregnant with #10... Good luck to you!!
